Illustrate With Lydia Burris

We have another old interview here with Lydia Burris, a very talented artist taking the convention scene by storm. This was my very first and last interview I did for From Dusk Till Con’s Tales from the Art Side segment. The article originally saw the light of day on May 28th, 2011. Why not give her a second run, huh? Enjoy!
Well, My Freaky Darlings, it seems our friends over at From Dusk Till Con have charged me with an unholy task. They have a little section of their site devoted to interviewing vendors and artists that tend to frequent the horror convention scene. The first of these interviews is going to be a darling young lass by the name of Lydia Burris. Lydia is quite the talented artist, and I do hope you all check her links out (or as a matter of fact, say “Hi!” when you see her at a convention!) So without wasting a further key stroke…Ha Ha I said stroke…(you all know full well you chuckled at that…) Put on your artsy hats and get out your paints….it’s time to…

Malice PsychotikLet’s start with you. Why don’t you tell us a bit about yourself…

Lydia Burris: I’m Lydia Burris. I make art and confuse people. I was raised by trees, and was fed a steady diet of horror and fantasy movies as a child. I’m always looking for a way to bridge the gap between concepts; Fine Art and Illustration,  Abstract and realism, light and dark, humor and stark seriousness. I am a midwest girl, but I lived in England for 14 months to get an international Masters of Fine Art. I never want to stay the same as an artist – I am always trying to grow, improve and try new methods. Art is not just a business for me – it is my way of life, and my journey, and the paths I take almost always  lead toward a darker realm.

Malice: How long have you been an artist? What first inspired you to walk that path?

Lydia: My mother and aunt always debate on who gave me the first crayon. My mother was an artist and was a huge inspiration to me and always encouraged me to be creative, to do art and not be afraid of the dark. She passed recently, but I will be keeping her website alive – to see what dark dreams I crawled out from, see her site: http://catherineburris.com

Malice:  What sort of things inspire you on a day-to-day basis?

Lydia: Dreams, strange psychology, mythology, the books I collect, nature, detritus, faces, words and interesting people.

But that’s not all! I can also add things like discolored photographs, idle emotions, the struggle of self-evaluation, paint drips, the type drawers on my walls filled with the pretty and sometimes broken things that don’t go anywhere else, and the will to stay as creative as possible.

Malice: So you mentioned you have a vampire for a boy friend…how does one end up with a vampire?

Lydia: You stay up late and check out strange basement night clubs. But seriously, he’s the sweetest vampire ever.

Malice: Let’s talk more professionally, how long have you been doing professional commissions?

Lydia: While I’ve been doing art since I was a tiny, I didn’t really start to extremely market myself until after college.

I decided to become professional. I grew a beard and started wearing a top hat and carrying a cane.

That didn’t really work, so instead I started to submit proposals for projects, contacting galleries, reading freelance books… etc. That worked better than the beard and hat. Some fun stuff: I have a permanent 4’ x 8’ oil portrait scene in the city hall of my hometown, Columbus, IN. There is a 9’ x 29’ lightbox of my art in Indianapolis which will stay up till August 2011.

Malice: What kind of clientage have you brought in? I know I saw a magician poster on your blog…

Lydia: Convention folk, magicians, monsters, musicians, movie makers, madmen and more.  I do a lot of my own thing, but I love commissions because they usually give me a chance to do something I may not do on my own, thus expanding my experience.

Malice: Have you ever had any “strange” requests?

Lydia: Does ‘A Michael Meyers malkavian vampire who turns ducks into vampires with a prince duck vampire and 4 vampire ducks-of-the-apocalypse’ count? (courtesy of a fun gamer client.)

Malice: Now I here tell you frequent the convention scene. Any appearances coming up?

Lydia: HorrorHound Indy, Days of the Dead!, and I plan on being at GenCon.  I’m looking into many more – my convention circuit depends on the success of the previous conventions, winning the lottery, people throwing money at me, and/or inviting me as a guest to their convention.

Malice: How do you like doing the vendor thing at conventions?

Lydia: I love it more than banana cream pie. I wish I could do this stuff full-time.  I get to meet the most interesting of people, share my art, and have bizarre and wonderful conversations all day!

Malice: So now it’s time for the mighty sword to fall…”Out-Of-Hat” questions? Let us begin: Do you think that the existence of the “Chaos Frog”…a frog capable of emitting a noxious gas that can turn people insane…should be made more public than just the private sector?

Lydia: I am not at liberty to discuss the ‘Chaos Frog’… however if we want to discuss the multi purposes of the ‘Deranged Dragonfly,’ I’m all game.

Malice: What coolness would it be if you could actually be a Cheshire Cat? You know, like if you could be a werewolf or a vampire…but you know…a Cheshire Cat instead?

Lydia:What are you talking about? I AM a Cheshire Cat!!! Notice my constant eerie smile?

Malice: How cool do you think it would be to have Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets at a convention? Mind you, they can be put anywhere to comment on anything?

Lydia: That would be awesome! Lets put Statler and Waldorf on the back of an Ostrich that just wanders through the entire convention.

Malice: If you could pit any celebrity mom’s in a death match, who would it be? Who would win?

Lydia: Lets just pick them at random and have them smack each other with banjos. I don’t care who wins.

Malice:  Are you aware of the Pecking order?

Lydia: Baaaak-bOOOaaaak …. cluck cluck cluck…. baAAAKKKityCLUCK!

Art by Lydia Burris

Malice: Well as fun as that was, all good things must come to the end. I always wish after my interviews I could give people a Tee Shirt, but you know it never ends that way! At any rate I will give you one last chance to pimp your stuff…so tell the good people where they can find you…

Lydia: I’m an online junkie, I admit it.

You can browse my website: http://lydiaburris.com

Click the links above and show this lady some love. That will be all for this installment…more to come soon…My Freaky Darlings. So until then I bid you fond farewell…

Sadistically Yours,

Jack’s Speakeasy…Akira’s Luck has Run Out?

WAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZ UPPPPPPPPPPPPP MY FREAKY DARLINGS!!!! Here is yet another unshared story. Again this is from my days on roleplayer.com. My Soul Eater group had a story arc going where the world of Soul Eater was fragmented by the arrival of a new Kishin. This allowed all different manner of creatures to creep in from the multi-verse. With all of the confusion going on, no one seemed to notice the real threat, a hidden Kishin by the name of Jack Crowley. You might see Jack Later in other stories. He was just too good of a character to waste on a now dead roleplay. Anyway, before the group fell apart this was his grand reveal. We had a god-moding little bitch that needed dealt with…he did it! Enjoy!

Editor Note: This is from the Soul Eater roleplay, but you really don’t need to know much about Soul Eater for this one. If you did you would love it more, but as a stand alone it may be ok…

It was a dark humid night…the air was still thick with the demon rider in the area. Akira had barely escaped…had it not been for how beaten he was, he wouldn’t be able to mask his own wavelength. The only reason he could in the first place was because it was so broken and weak from battle. What nature of beast was that thing? That fire…it wasn’t normal….My soul feels like it was nearly ripped to pieces. Plus that stare…why did his stare burn like that….Akira was ready to pass out. That Rider had chased him all around the planet…London, Paris, Tokyo, Romania, the Sahara Desert, Siberian Wastelands, America, and back. Never once giving him more than a couple minuets to rest. He needed a place to go. Somewhere safe where he could recoup. That’s when he remembered…Jack.

During one of his minuet long breaks Jack had found him. He offered to help, but Akira ignored it. In retrospect this might not have been wise. The Kishin felt in his pocket, and there they were. Jack had given him two cards an Ace of Spades and a Jack of Spades. All he needed to do is remember how he said to use them…”If you ever decide to accept some help…if you ever need an out….Just Remember to stack these cards on a wall and recite these words…’Remember, Remember, this Teeny Tiny Fact, Whenever you want someone to have your back, Knock three times and whisper Black Jack…'” Remembering this…the Kishin took the cards and placed them on the wall. After speaking the incantation and knocking three times, the cards glowed. They turned a brilliant green and melted into the wall. The wall shook violently. Brick seemed to shake away like dust to reveal an old door. Over the door hung a sign that said “The Laughing Clown.”

A small peep-hole slid open. As it did a pair of eyes shined through. “Password..?” said a gruff, deep voice. Akira looked side to side, and then spoke, “Black Jack…” He heard the door’s many latches undo, and then the old door creak open. As the door opened the smell of cigars and booze lingered heavy. An old Jazz tune played, and he could here many people inside talking and…partying? What type of aid could a party possibly be? It was then he heard the Ghost Riders motorcycle rev up and heard him yell…He was close. Deciding he had much better chances with a fellow Kishin than he did with that…thing. Akira made his way through the open door. The towering door man closed it behind him. The door man looked like a huge muscular ape in a suit. What kind of place was this?

Akira scanned the room looking for Jack and saw all sorts of interesting characters.  There were lots of people in clown masks, but amongst them were all sorts of villains from all walks of life it seemed. Around the room he saw what looked to be a talking burlap sack, a being that looked more snake than human, there was even a large group of weirdos at the back. This was were Jack sat. The table consisted of a demented looking clown, a skinny sickly looking man with a camera, an old mortician in a top hat, an older lady in Victorian dress, a chainsaw wielding maniac, a younger woman with black hair in a bloody night-gown, and a light-haired younger woman in a sparkling gold dress. The beaten Kishin walked over to the table where Jack was sitting. Upon approach Jack noticed his presence waving him over and sending the other characters away. “Akira old Boy! You look positively BAKED! Tell Old Jack what happened!”

The Kishin gave the purple suited man a sharp look. Jack sat smiling from ear to ear. “Well, as you know I was running away from that Rider. We clashed a couple of times after I talked to you. That fire he was using wasn’t normal fire. It seemed to burn me down to the soul and was near impossible to recover from. Then he finally got a good hold of me and locked me in a gaze. IT FELT LIKE MY SOUL WAS TEARING APART! I released a massive amount of energy and managed to shake him off.” His panicked expression turned to a sullen look as he looked at the table. “My Soul is fragmented…I can’t muster any of my powers. Some of the souls I had within my own feel like they were burned up…”

Jack kicked his legs up on the table and started shuffling a deck of cards. “Well, if you would have accepted my help…You would have known I knew the Ghost Rider. He’s from the Marvel Universe. A Half Demon really, he walks between the world of humans and the world of the supernatural. His life long mission in life is to destroy evil and hunt down devils. Him and I have had our brushes and I narrowly escaped every time. You have to out smart the Rider if you hope to win.” Jack stopped shuffling and laid one card in front over each of them face down, and then laid one each face up. Akira had a 4 of hearts and Jack had a Jack of Spades. “Hit or Stay?” The other Kishin nodded for him to hit. He got a six of clubs. “Hit or Stay?” Jack said. He decided to stay. “Your problem seems to be you think you have all the cards. When in truth…” as he said this he flipped Akira’s face down card, “when in fact you don’t have squat, just a big bluff! That bluff will only get you so far though…” While he spoke he flipped his face down over. It was an Ace of Spades, “When your opponent has you beat…he has you beat! What you need is a loaded deck! Yeah you need someone with the know how, and the power to help you stack the deck against your opponent…”

The black-haired kishin smiled at this, “So you ARE going to help me! I knew you were a worthy ally…”

“Now, hold your horses Junior…I never said that. You don’t get to ignore me and treat me like a pile of garbage and have me help you right off the bat…No, No, No! The time for that has passed. Besides, your wounds are from Hell Fire, and not very many people can repair that. Not to mention you got at least a quarter of a ‘Penance Stare.’ The Ghost Rider Burned you from the inside out…No…You don’t need my help right now…You need a lot of Luck…And I know just the Lady….Haa Haa Haaaaa!” laughed the purple suited Kishin. Jack held his hand up and motioned for the younger woman who was dressed in the gold dress. She came over swaying her hips the whole way.

“You called Jack, My Dear?” she said with a smile.

“This is Lady Luck…Lady Luck…this is the Kishin, Akira…He’s in great need of your assistance. It seems he needs a little….well Luck!” Jack grinned while his words slid past his lips. “Think you can help him out, Dear?”

Lady Luck stood looking at the beaten Kishin, “Jack…I would be more than happy to help him….but….He will have to play a game of chance first to see if he’s worth saving.” She grinned and continued, “The stakes will be high…If you win…I’ll turn your Luck around. You’ll heal and Jack here will give you some fire power…If you loose…it will cost you everything…So, what do you say…are you a gambling man Kishin?”

Akira thought about this for a moment. The Ghost Rider had damaged him pretty badly. His soul was starting to fall apart. All of his vast powers were gone…and he wanted revenge. Revenge on that flaming freak! Not only that though, but now more than ever he wanted to squash the DWMA!!! “Lady Luck your stakes are high…but…I’m willing to take the bet.”

Jack smiled and looked at them both, “Well then, since we now have an accord, let’s get this puppy started. I can’t imagine how you feel Akira…why this is got to be the first time you have been without your powers since you became one! Why I remember before I was a Kishin…Remember it like it was yesterday…My partner Harley and I were sent after some witch. She was of course up to no good…as most witches are…but during the battle…I was knocked out. When I came to Harley was dead…She had to have just died, because her soul still lingered on the air. So I did the only thing I could do…I devoured her soul, and killed that witch!!” Jack’s eyes grew distant as if he was remembering something very painful to him…”Anyway, on with the show!!”

“Let us begin!” said the woman. She took out a small silver tray with three card on it. Each was a different color. One Red, One Purple, and One Orange, “Pick a card…and determine your fate…”

Akira looked at the card curiously. He had to be careful! One wrong move, and he would lose it all. He would probably have to work for Jack for the rest of his life as a lackey. “I think I will choose this one,” as he said this he layed his finger on the purple one.

The mistress of luck smiled, “Well…it’s not my most interesting game…but it’s still s good one. This game is called…’The Jokers Wild.’ To play this game I will set out five cards. Three will be Ace’s and Two will be Joker’s. If you pick the Joker’s before the Ace’s…you loose.” She laid the cards down carefully in front of Akira. “Choose wisely…”

The Kishin toiled back and forth for a few moments he had to be careful. He chose the one in the middle…It was the Ace of Spades. The second card he chose would be the one all the way to the right…Whammy! He picked up a Joker card. Jack and Lady Luck smiled with delight! This was not good. He liked the odds better if he would have at least gotten another Ace. The time he went second card to the left…He was relieved to se it was the Ace of Hearts. All Akira would need is one more good card. He picked the far left one…His heart sank as he turned it over revealing another Joker card. The other two cackled in glee….

“You lose…” Lady Luck  said.

“Well I knew the stakes…I suppose there is nothing to do. I’m guessing now I will  be bound to this bar…or be a lackey of yours…” lazily said the fallen Kishin.

“Oh, I don’t think I will do that…” laughed Jack. “No…I have something special planned for you…”

Akira looked on emotionless, “Such a disgraceful fate for the God of Kishin…”

“There’s that word again. Friend, you do know all Kishin are at the level of being a God right? There is no God of Kishin, it just sounds like a bad joke. Ya’ know…Now that you got me thinking about our beginnings….you got me thinking about that day oh so many years ago. What was that witch doing?” Jack thought for a moment before exclaiming, “Ah HA!!! She was trying to revive a Kishin…what was his name…?” A grin grew across Jack’s face and his eyes grew wild, “His name was Vlad D’Yavol…also known as ‘AKIRA’!!!!”

Akira’s eyes grew wide and a look of horror spread over his face. “Wh-wha-What are you going to d-do?”

“Well, you’re not going to work here that’s for sure…No…I’m going to get the one thing I’ve thought about since that day 86 years ago…” after saying this Jack licked his lips. “It’s dinner time…”

This was the end of Vlad D’Yavol….

Fan-Fiction: “Stein Vs. K.C”

Hello Darlings! I was digging through some old writings when I discovered some old stories and articles I’ve never used for one reason or another. So over the next week or so, I’m going to intertwine them with the new stuff. Hope you enjoy. This story in particular I did for my Role Play group. It was a Soul Eater one and I played Stein. If you have never checked out Soul Eater you should. Very good anime and top notch manga. Simply put, if you are a fan of stuff I recommend or this site…high chance you’ll enjoy this show. I was inspired by a child murder that had happened around the time. Writers find inspiration from everywhere…sometimes even tragedy.

It was a hot summer night when Professor Franken Stein and Death Scythe Spirit Albarn arrived at their mission. If the reports were true, they would be fighting a Kishin seed well on its way to the real thing. It had been a long flight and Spirit had been on edge the whole time. Their target was one Kirsten Castles. Kirsten was the subject of recent legal debate. You see, she was accused of murdering her daughter a few years earlier. After a lengthy battle in court, she was acquitted of all charges. This didn’t sit well with most…especially not Lord Death. Lord Death had briefed them that the jail she was held in had quite a few “Unexplained Deaths.” Inmates found dead, with no real explainable cause. It was almost as if the soul had been sucked straight from their bodies. At any rate, the Death God had a theory and if it was correct, she was well on her way to being a full-blown Kishin. Taking this into account he sent his best Meister and his trusted Death Scythe to take care of it. The two talked back and forth before they snuck into the empty house to wait for their mark.

“I don’t understand why Lord Death wants us to confirm before we attack. I say we get that rotten baby killer right at the door!” raged an angry Spirit. The whole thing didn’t sit very well with him. He was convinced that she was guilty, and the theory of her being a Kishin Egg just seemed to fit.

“Spirit, we don’t actually know if she is a Kishin Egg…Guilty of murder or not, our only charge is to take care of her is she has started walking the path of a Kishin. We aren’t here to determine the type of guilt you are going after. Even if she did do it, if she’s not a Kishin Egg we have no jurisdiction over her.” said Stein in his usual calm tone. He didn’t mean to sound cold, but it was the truth. They weren’t vigilante’s and they weren’t there to write a wrong of the court.

The Death Scythe pushes back his red hair, “I just don’t understand how you can be so cold about this Stein! Maybe if you had kids, you would understand…”

“That has nothing to do with it Spirit. You need to calm down and clear your head…” Stein interrupted, “She will be here soon and I can’t have you all over the place. You need to get your head in the game and stop thinking with your bleeding heart.” With that, the two crept into the house and waited for their possible “Kishin Egg” to come home.

When Kirsten would arrive she would open the door to a dark house. She fumbled for a light switch when all of a sudden, moon light from the door would catch the Professor’s glasses making them glow eerily in the dark. As she jumped back in fear, the scientist clicked on a nearby lamp to reveal himself fully sitting in a chair and Spirit standing next to him. “Hello…Miss Castles..” he said in a plain tone.

The woman looking shocked asked in a shaky voice, “What are you doing in my house!? I wish you people would leave me alone! Don’t you know the court’s found me innocent. You people need to wake up and realize that!” She was obviously scared. It’s terrifying enough finding two people in your house, but when one of them is a man with stitched up clothes and body with a screw sticking out of his head…well I don’t have to explain that to you.

“Were not here about the court’s verdict, no…We are from the DWMA. You see, our Lord Death suspects you of being a Kishin Egg…a person that eats the souls of the innocent to try to gain more power to become a Kishin.” he replied. “You see there were a lot of strange deaths at the prison you were held at. Even stranger was the fact, upon investigation, all of the inmates were in your cell block. Of all the people ran through your block, you were the only one to stay there during the entire period of your incarceration. You wouldn’t happen to know anything about that would you?”

The woman looked surprised at the mad scientist. She looked around the room, almost as if the answer would jump out from behind a book-case. Looking the mad scientist dead in the eye she yelled, “I don’t know what you are talking about! Now if you don’t get out of my damn house…I’M CALLING THE COPS!!”

Stein put a cigarette in his mouth and lit it. Taking in a long drag, he let out a the smoke forming a skull in the air, “You see at first I was inclined to believe that. I mean, if you already didn’t have a considerable amount of power in the first place, why would you want to be a Kishin. More importantly, if you weren’t a witch, a meister, or a weapon…what would make you want power like that in the first place?” The scientist turned the screw in his head a couple of times before continuing, “Then it occurred to me. What if you did want to get rid of your daughter, but didn’t know a way to do it WITHOUT leaving evidence that normal police could follow. What if a someone told you how to suck the soul right out of that little girl? A young child’s soul is exceptionally strong…so consuming one would be enough to give you a bona fide jump to becoming a Kishin. Might even give you some powers to make the next kills easier. Being in a jail with all of those souls…nobody cares to look into a prisoner’s death. It’s like a Kishin buffet in there! But who would give you that sort of information…why?”

By this time the woman looked at the scientist with cold eyes. She was either irritated or knew where he was going with this. “Your story is as crazy as you are…But go on and finish…I’ll be calling the cops…” She stood glaring at the Professor.

“Oh. I don’t think you will be doing that no. Getting back to my story, Why would someone turn a regular person to the idea of being a Kishin? Simple really…you were easy to manipulate. It gave you the out you were looking for, and then as the Madness grew within you…how could you resist? The power made you feel good. It made you strong…” A smirk came over Stein’s face, “But in truth you’re not strong at all…No…infact you are a pathetic waste of matter that turned their back on not just humanity…but their own child….your the lowest of the low.” As he said this the room grew tense. It almost seemed to fill with energy and a Madness grew over the air.

Kirsten stood there with a wide grin growing on her face, “You know, they said you would come. Who would have thought that the Reaper would send his best after me. I have to admit, they were really hoping it would have been that Kid of his or the loud mouthed brat assassin.” Saying this, the lights began to flicker and the womans body began to shift and morph. “But if it means getting a shot at the best he has to offer, I’ll add your souls to my own…I’ve always wondered what a meister or a death scythe tastes like!”

As she began to grow and take a disgusting new form, Spirit looked to Stein, “Do you have your evidence yet? What are you waiting for Stein!?”

soul eater stein and spirit

By the time Spirit finished his sentence, the woman had changed into a mangled form. Standing at approximately, 8′ 5″, her once small fingers turned to long gangly things with black razor claws for nails. Her once brown hair now ratty and thin looking that of an old Halloween witch. The once white skin now replaced with a gross pale grey…almost appearing like dead flesh. The beasts head looked huge. It’s jaw open wide with a slew of barbed tentacles hanging out of it. On tube in the middle looked as if it could be a mouth as it had teeth. Stein replied,  “Spirit…take your weapon form…this is about to get interesting.”

As the Professor said this, the monster roared. Spirit turned into a scythe and with a quick spin the two were ready for battle. Kirsten lunged forward trying to slash with her claws. Stein quickly pulled the scythe around in front to catch the blow, the force knocking him through a wall into the kitchen.

“Watch it Stein! I’m not a shield you know!?” Spirit yelled. “By the way, I have sneaking suspicion she secretes a neurotoxin, so be careful!”

Stein replied, “I guessed as much. I have a sneaking suspicion she is a Hydra-Kishin Seed.” As Stein got up the beast slashed with its right, causing him to duck down. Thrusting it’s tentacles forward, the meister slashed at them severing a few. “I do believe we need out of this house though. There really is no room to fight in here…” With that the angry Kirsten charged. Stein side-stepped putting the bottom of the scythe against the back of her head. This combined with its own momentum took her through the wall and out into the yard.

“Aggh! Stupid Meister!! Your tearing apart my house! I’m going to enjoy eating your soul!!!” The Kishin Egg was now in a blood rage…Stein’s plan was working perfectly. It was time for the good Professor and Death Scythe to take the offensive. Stein dashed across the yard swinging down hard severing her right arm. Another strike would go right across the abdomen ending with a gash to the throat. Kirsten recoiled in pain. “Stupid Fool! It’s going to take a lot more than that to kill me!!” In just a few seconds her wounds healed up. Stein got the info he was looking for.

“Stein we need to end this!” Spirit yelled to Stein.

“You don’t think I know that?” replied the meister. “We need to be careful with this.”

Kirsten called out to Spirit, “Hey, hot head! You should listen to the Mad Scientist! Your not going to make me an easy kill!”

The Death Scythe called back, “Shut up you child killing skank! How could you kill your own child!? You’re the worst type of monster!!!”

The monster smiled a gruesome grin, “Oh…I’ve heard of you…You have a soft spot for kids…and a real hot head.” Kirsten chuckled, “You know her soul was really kind of sweet…almost like candy. Really. I haven’t tasted one quite like it and I don’t think I ever will…Maybe I should consider changing my diet to more children.”

This threw Spirit into a rage. Letting out a loud battle cry, he turned into his human form rushing across the field. Right before reaching her, he let loose his blades on his back and arms. Spirit swung wildly at her. “I’LL KILL YOU!!! YOU BITCH!!!” Spirit was in a full-blown rage.

“No Spirit, you’re falling for her games!” Stein called after. “Damn hot head, you’re gonna get us killed!!”

Spirit rolled around her causing her to turn her back. Slashing wildly he made various cuts across her abdomen. unfortunately, Spirit wasn’t paying very much attention to his movements and had cornered himself. “Your mine now little hot head!! Yaaaaa!!!” Kirsten thought she had him…but was terribly wrong!

“Do it now Stein!!!” Spirit screamed. Stein came charging in from the back planting his palm deep into her back.

“SOUL FORCE!!!” the scientist would call out as he hit her with his soul wave-length. This sent her flying toward Spirit. He used her knee a spring-board and forced his way up dealing an uppercut and flipping over head.

“That’s for your daughter you slime!!!” Spirit called before turning into a Death Scythe and landing in Stein’s hands.

“Thanks for the distraction. I really thought you lost it there for a second…” Professor Stein responded.

“I’ll be honest I kind of did…then when I snapped to it I saw a openning. Thank God you pick up on things quick!” Spirit was as ready as ever…

“Hey I told you!!! It’s not going to be that easy! Quit talking like this fight’s over!” the beast raged.

“Well, considering your not going to able to move, I think you have no choice but take this next hit…” the Professor said in a calm tone. “Suture..”

With this command, Steins wave-length formed suture’s bind Kirsten’s feet to the floor. “Aghh!! How did you? WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!?”

“If you would have done some more research, you would have found what a bad idea it is to be hit by my surgical wave-length. My sutures will hold you right in the spot. Even if you could break free, it would be too late for what will happen next.” Stein explained. He took Spirit and spun him around holding him in the air behind his back. “Being in sense you regenerate so fast, it’s I can’t afford to drag this fight out to long. Unfortunately you regenerate faster than I can deal any significant damage…taking all of this into account…Spirit I think we have to use THAT attack….are you ready?”

“You know it! Let’s take that evil Bitch’s soul!” replied Spirit.

Alright then…LET’S GO SOUL RESONANCE!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!” both yelled in unison. “SURGICAL STORM!!!”

With this command, Spirit’s blade grew double in size. Around it sprouted up several other smaller scythes of various lengths. They glowed with the combined power of the two. Stein rushed forward, bringing the blades down at a diagonal coming across her chest. Using the momentum, he reversed the force bringing the blades up from bottom to top. The final slash would be a high-speed run through the middle. As he landed behind her, the attack would release and Spirit would take his human form again. Blood would spray our following the direction of the slashes. Kirsten howled in pain.

“That’s not going to be enough! I’ll regenerate, and then you both di—-Huh!?” she stopped dead in her words.

“Actually, I was counting on that regenerating ability…” Stein said this with a smile on his face. “Surgical Storm is designed for monsters such as yourself. You see it turns your own ability against you. The faster you regenerate, the faster you course my soul wave-length through your body. Only this one isn’t ‘suture.’ No, this is a wave-length designed to cut. More specifically, it cuts at a Microscopic level…It’s cutting you slightly now…enough to paralyze you in pain. On my command, the attack will activate…slicing you faster than you can recover. It will tear you to shreds…You gave a good fight…but I’m afraid it’s time to end this…’Dissect!'”

With that command Kirsten’s body started to tear apart from the inside out. Organs, blood veins, muscle, cells…all being torn to ribbons. Kirsten coughed up blood. Her tenticals falling out of her mouth…her cuts growing wider and bleeding more profusely. Finally with a scream her body exploded leaving a red Kishin Seed Soul…

“Well…were done here.” Stein said to Spirit. “I know you don’t need to collect souls, but do you want to…”

“Eat that thing!? NO! That soul is foul. I would never let that dirty thing touch my lips. Anyone that would harm a child is the lowest of the low. I’m a Death Scythe. I wouldn’t lower myself to eat a sick soul like that.” Spirit said disgusted.

“Ha Ha! Well then I guess we’ll just take it to Lord Death to dispose of!” laughed Stein

“How can you be so light hearted!?” yelled the Death Scythe

“Lighten up Spirit! Justice was served and disaster was avoided. That little girl’s soul won’t be used for evil means…Let’s go home Spirit…”

The two walked off into the night. Stein was right, disaster had been avoided…but only for the time being. After all…who was behind all of this? Some one had to have been pulling the strings. Time could only tell…

Back Story: A sultry Succubus feeding on the most unsuspecting of men. Cordelia has been around for years and has caused much chaos. Through out the ages she has been responsible for massive loss of life. From cults to secret societies…she’s done it all. She consumes enough energy to last her about a century and then stops for a spell. It’s been nearly a decade since her last massacre…and she’s hungry for more…

Meeting Malice: You know I’m very fond of graveyards. You really never know what will turn up. One night in particular I was enjoying a midnight absinthe through one of the greatest cemeteries I’ve found…in Edinburgh. We got bored and found a way down to the vaults. Very fun place if I do say so myself. Lot’s of spirits and all sorts of supernatural creatures. We were just about to settle down and have some “Personal Time” when we heard something down the hall. Poor thing was trying to hide away. Apparently, a slayer had caught her off guard. She had regenerated most of the way but was very weak. Seras allowed her some blood and I ran off looking for that slayer. Sometimes I get it, Slayers help to protect against the really BAD creatures of the night. This wasn’t the case. Very seldom do you find a Succubus that feeds on the innocent. Mostly they have fun with the wicked (they taste better or something!) This Slayer in particular was angry over the death of a grandfather…or some such shit. I don’t like bullies! I tracked him down. Idiot went down in the vaults without an exit plan. She fed and restored her energy…but not before I made his insides his out….That was how we met our dear Cordelia.

Psychotik Review: Mr. Hush

Alright this has been a long time coming, and I’m so happy to be able to finally review this film. As some of you may know who have been with us from the get go…or those of you that like to browse my back catalogue of articles…know about Mr. Hush. I feel so bad that I have sat on this review for so long. I know a few people who have been dying for my thoughts on it (Literally I have been to two funerals over this so far and can’t do it anymore…lol) Seriously though, this has been a long journey and I can’t wait for the next one David Madison set’s me on. Without beating around the bush…and no more around the tush…Allow me to present…

Psychotik Review: Mr. Hush

Epic cover means epic movie.....

Behold his greatness!

Allow me to start this off my saying I’m generally not a fan of Independent Films. Most experiences I’ve had in the past were very bad. Not to say that their haven’t been times that I’ve been amazed. Also in saying this though, I’d like to add I’ve come to know what to expect from these movies. Hush stands head and shoulders above others. Let’s not start out with the rating though…I want you all to sweat! The film is about  Holland Price (Brad Loree), an average enough guy with a perfect family. This all changes one Halloween night when a priest shows up at his door. According to him, he was taking some children trick or treating when his vehicle caught a flat. He just needed to use the phone. Seems legit? WRONG! I a single instance all goes wrong and thus begins Hollands nightmare. Flash 10 years in the future and Holland has become a drifter that suffers from nightmares of the night his wife was murdered and his daughter disappeared. He still searches for her, clinging to the thought she is still out there. It’s when he stops to settle down a bit…he finds the nightmare…has found him once again.

Before I dive into pro’s and con’s, let me start off with saying this is an independent film, and as such there are some things you have to take into consideration. Independent films are very low budget most of the times. So picking at bad visual effects, shaky camera, and other small details…you can’t really do that fairly. These are present in most if not all independent films. They can’t all have Rick Baker, Tom Savini, or film in an IMAX camera. So if your watching this movie, don’t rate it yourself comparing it to a multimillion dollar flick. At this point you are being unfair. You have to appreciate it for what it is. A throwback to the old horror movies of the 80’s. Something that was done wonderfully. Now that that’s out of the way…Pro’s and Con’s (I’m going to reverse the two so we end on a positive note!)

Cons

Really there isn’t much bad I have to say about Hush. The main problems I found was with transitions and character development. Some of the transitions between dream sequences and flashes forward in time are left unclear. It takes you a minuet to gather your thoughts and realize you aren’t really lost. A couple of times it happened and I was like “Whoa, Did I miss something?”

As far as character development goes, you learn a nice bit about most of the characters. Definitely enough to keep the movie moving. I just wish there was more. Some of the relationships that are formed are unclear because you don’t know how much time has lapsed. This con is almost a good thing, because that means the film had characters worth wanting to know more about it.

Pros

Ah, a lot of these to be had. But I’m only going to gush over a few. I enjoyed the casting, the story, the ending (the ending is going to have spoilers…but don’t worry I’ll warn you…this is number 1) The casting in this movie is very interesting. This is the first speaking main role for Brad Loree who usually is just a stunt man. I do hope this isn’t his last lead role as he did very well. The antagonistic role is played with a chilling sadistic nature by Edward X. Young. The man plays a villain like no other. He can go from purely calm in demeanor to psycho in seconds.  Stephen Geoffreys is like the perfect lackey and very much so a nod to his roles from the 80’s (Fright Night, 976-EVIL). Steve Dash will make you smile from ear to ear as will director Thomas Churchill. Neither one has much screen time, but boy the time they are on screen…you won’t forget them. Watch out for Spoilers ahead….

Story was another thing I enjoyed. It is cut from the same cloth has most horror from the 80’s, but in an original pattern. it’s refreshing to see a call back to when horror was really different. It wasn’t afraid to have comedy. It wasn’t afraid to be a little campy. The dialogue in this movie will chill you in some areas and in others make you have a real gut wrenching laugh (Listen for “You Smelly Fuck!”…your going to lose it and not get it back!! lol) A + for freshness….Spoiler Alert coming up ….now!!!

***SPOILER ALERT***

Who is this Edward Cullen you speak of?

Who is this Edward Cullen you speak of?

The ending is really worth mentioning as a pro. You don’t see it coming. Obviously you get their is something off about Mr. Hush. A sort of supernatural quality. What you don’t expect is him turning into a grey shark tooth fanged vampire. You also don’t expect one of the most hilarious vampire staking since Paul Rubens in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Huey Lewis and the News isn’t a bad addition either. I like the twist ending the most. You sort of see it, but it’s not at the front of your mind for sure. Age old vampire grudge over Hollands grandfather killing Hush’s mate? it’s very refreshing not seeing regurgitated ideas.

Final Verdict

In conclusion, I give David Lee Madison’s  Mr. Hush 4 out of 5 Top Hats. If you’re a fan of independent film, or just wanting to see a good fresh horror flick pick it up! It’s available at Blockbuster and through Netflix by mail. I really can’t wait to see further projects from David Madison. Hats off sir…Hats off! That will be all for today Darlings! Stay tuned for more madness!

LunaName: Luna

Hair Color and Style: Long curly, dark brown with light brown highlights

Eyes: Bright hazel

Height: 5’4

Weight: 145 lbs

Build: Average

Bust Size: D

Clothing: Gothic / punk

Other Identifiable Traits: Two beauty marks one on each cheek

Race: Hybrid; werewolf and vampire

Crew Position: Psychotik Girl

Favorite Books: The Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Favorite Movies: The lord of the ring and soon to be The Hobbit series.

Favorite Music: Nightwish; Bye bye beautiful. Nickleback; This is how you remind me. Kesha; Cannibal and Take it off.

Guilty Pleasure: I enjoy smells…When I say I enjoy smells…let’s just say just about any and leave it there.

Editor’s Note: Really? Nickleback wasn’t the guilty pleasure? In that case no I do not want to know some of those smells…Ha Ha! I kid…But seriously we need to talk…

Back Story: Luna was a creation by a scientist that was obsessed with the perfect monster or more so the perfect human. Stronger, smarter, faster and everlasting. To put it simple; an immortal. Reading stories and myths about hybrids and created his own. Blood of a vampire mixed with blood of a werewolf. For years the man worked on the perfect blood to balance it and failed many times. One day he had all but given up, that was till a new idea began to form. The blood did not have a host. In his readings he remembered the note of a Dr. Frankenstein, could it work? There was one way to find out. The scientist had found a child. She had died at a young age; killed with her family by some lunatic. Her throat was slit, torn apart. The perfect subject. The night of the blood moon was the night the scientist had succeeded. He had tubs down her throat and IV’s in every vain. A small pulses of electricity were sent to her heart and air pumped into her lungs. Her neck was stitched back up after all the blood was in her, slowly her body started to heal. Within a month her heart rate was normal, all vital signs were stable. He had done it. Three months had passed before she was learning to walk, read, talk… and feast. To her it was normal, but the scientist had told her that she was to keep the blood thirst away from others, it was their secret and one she kept very well. Upon her 18th birthday however was her awakening and the fatal night for the scientist.

Meeting Malice: You know I’ve always been one for enjoying what most consider monsters. Really they are no different than other creatures. Just they are a bit higher up he food chain. None of these creatures are quit as interesting as a hybrid. A half and half mocachino of the monster variety as it were. So here I am, wandering around in these woods in…well I’m not even sure I remember what dimension…and there is this girl covered in blood in the middle of the forest. Fierce eyes and sharp fangs. Apparently she had been out there for a month. She had killed the man who created her, a few campers, and a host of chickens. The guy that created her had done a good job at bonding Vampire and Lycanthrope DNA…he just didn’t know how well. It just so happens on her 18th birthday, the DNA strands became perfect…and the result was violent. Poor thing was having trouble controlling her baser urges…Seras is working with her. The information she has from her home world is advantageous to say the least.

Hope you enjoyed our dear fanged puppy! Look forward to more to come!

Until Nest Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Malice Psychotik

F.E.A.R Concert January 5th, 2013

1111111

Darlings…you do remember a bit back we had the interview with friend and Finding Every Altar Ruined’s Mike Meara? Well recently I for to catch a live show of there’s right here in little ol’ Bum Fuck Egypt! If you have the Youtube channel added (and we know you don’t) you would have already gotten to see the video’s I’m a bout to post. Give them a watch, I really do think they have something good going on here. I was very impressed by them. I’m not just saying that because they are friends either. I’m a real stickler when it comes to my metal. I don’t just listen to anything…I like to think I really only listen to good music. They are good music. Somebody hand them a record deal, because they are going places all of them!

The most amazing thing is, this is coming out of Okeechobee, Fl. Most of you out there may not even know it exists (regardless of the fact it’s located over the biggest lake in Florida of the same name…you are all nimrods if you just said “What lake in Florida?”) It’s a tiny little cowboy/bible town you would never expect good music to come out of. F.E.A.R proves that theory so wrong. To top it off, you never see a show like that in Okeechobee. Now it may have been in a back yard, but hey that’s as good as it get’s here. I do belive the last rock show I was at in this town was Ring of Scars. And that was way back when. They proved it can happen though. I caught up with Mike after the show and he had even said he hoped that this shows other bands that you can do this in this town. There is a scene for it! At any rate…look at the videos below. So sorry we didn’t catch the other bands that were there. We caught the last half of Reach for the Sky‘s set. They are another really good band to keep an eye out for. Seras and I talked to Lead Singer Rajan Maharajh about doing an interview and they are pretty down for it. So look for that soon!

Editors Note: Do excuse the quality of the videos. It was getting late and the sun was going down. As there was no lighting, the videos get darker. Seras informed me that if I made lights appear out of no where, all the humans would freak out..I also could not get all of the show, which is a shame. But at least I had a chance to enjoy the last half!

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings.

A Psychotik Review: Jersey Shore Shark Attack

Why hello there Freaky Darlings! Dear me, the recent experiments have been keeping me away! On a brighter note, things should pick up soon around here as I have wired together an interesting substitute for a broken lap top. (Can’t use Cheshire cat magic all the time kiddies…takes the adventure out of life!) Any how, we have a movie review from my dear vampire sweety, Seras Psychotik! We sat down the other day to a remarkably funny cheese fest in the form of Jersey Shore Shark Attack. I considered it to be pretty good for what it was. But this isn’t about what I think….Let’s see what Seras has to say…

A Psychotik Review: Jersey Shore Shark Attack

jersey-shore-shark-attack-banner2

The Jersey Shore Shark Attack is an Anchor Bay film released in 2012 that is a parody of The Jersey Shore reality television series and JAWS. Yes I know it sounds corny but proved to be quite humorous. Vinny from TJS stars as a newscaster for News Jersey Live. Other stars of TJS are parodied as follows: The Complication aka TC (The Situation), Donnie (Ronnie), Nooki (Snooki), Paulie Balzac (Paulie D), J-Moni (J-Woww), and BJ (Deena). The only star not parodied is Sammie. Guess they weren’t a fan?

TJS acronym GTL (gym, tan, laundry) becomes ASS (alcohol, sun, sex). Not that it’s any different from what they do on The Shore lol. So early on as the film opens you get to see the sharks that cause all the problems. Albino Bull Sharks. White with blood-red eyes. This species of shark generally stays far out in the ocean but are attracted to vibrations. Mayor Palantine (Paul Sorvino), has approved a development on the Jersey Shore that includes underwater drilling thus drawing the albino bull sharks to shore on the 4th of July.

First kill in the movie is very JAWS like. A man out fishing on a small boat is attacked. Immediately, you can hear the squib hiss as blood comically pours and squirts from his neck and upper torso areas.

Things get crazy when there is a “misunderstanding” between the Guidos and the JS Blue Bloods or preppies we’ll call them. A friend of TC, Donnie, and Paulie goes missing after jumping in the water to escape the pursuing preppies. When he isn’t seen again and doesn’t return calls they become concerned and the entire JS gang takes matters into their own hands to find out what happened.

After they enter a restricted area the gang come across a human torso and then the fins begin sailing through the water right at them! A decision is made to steal a boat belonging to head preppie Bradford (Grant from Secret Life Of The American Teenager). Sharks are spotted so they begin lighting fireworks to toss at them. Donnie clumsily drops a lit firecracker into a bag full of them and consequently blows up the boat!

No one will believe them that Seaside Heights is crawling with the deadly creatures. 4th of July festivities begin and as Joey Fatone formerly of N Sync prepares to take the stage they try once more to make someone believe. Joey simply laughs in their face and takes the stage. Joey dedicates a song to all the ladies but before he even begins singing, a shark flies across the screen devouring him!!! Now people believe.

joey-fatone-jersey-shore-shark-attack_thumb[2]

You know, they used to just use Sheppard rods or a gong to get a bad act off stage…I’m for this…J/K…We love you Joey, ya’ crazy Italian Bastard!- Malice Psychotik

One shark is caught and a mic found in its mouth so the mayor is happy to say the shark that ate Joey Fatone is dead and there aren’t any more. He was wrong. So as not to give too much more away, you get to see Nooki beat a shark over the head with a boat paddle which is amusing.

As we come upon the climax of the film, the sharks have banded together to take down the pier. Police start clearing everyone off but of course there are casualties. Brave TC runs out onto the pier where the drilling was being done and manages to shut off the drill. Immediately, the sharks begin heading back out to sea. Newscaster Vinny is excited to report that the Shore is once again safe. Just before a shark flies across the screen and eats him. RIP Vinny. The Shore won’t be the same without you.

My personal scoring of the film is 4 out of 5 top hats. It was very entertaining and kept my attention throughout the entire film. Remember, it’s a parody.

jersey-shore-shark-week-snooki-the-situation-tv-ecard

You should really go out and rent this if you can. It’s pretty good for a laugh and entertaining enough. Whether you love The Jersey Shore, Hate The Jersey Shore, or just plain want to see a shark movie…I’m sure you will love it. Stay tuned for more madness to come!

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Malice Psychotik

A Psychotik Resolution for 2013

Hey there, Freaky Darlings! It’s been a shame that things have been put on hold so long as of late. The holidays, coupled with laptop issues, multiplied by a multitude of complex humanish problems have left me overly exhausted and without energy…Basicly it’s time for a long trip to Orlando and copious amounts of absinthe. Either way the year is drawing to a close. We are literally only hours away for the new year and I have somethings I would rather like to share with you. One…is my New Year Resolution…It’s sort of the same as last year…or at least part of it. To keep furthering my goals….blah blah blah….The main one though, to stop holding on to childish things. To become more evolved as a person and stop letting little people, with small brains ruin my time. Not saying actually little people, but you know what I mean. It’s time to let some things go completely…MOVING ON!!

The next thing I would like to do is share some fond memories with you all. Lot’s of bad things have happened this year…I mean life has been inside, outside, sideside, and downside…never slowing down and more than determined to keep me down on my ass! Taking that into consideration, all the bad had me thinking about the good. I guess you could say this is a section to honor some great people in my life…also just some great times I had. Let’s list them shall we!!!

10. KuniCon/OtakuCon December 2004

This was the second convention I ever attended and it sticks out in my mind still to this day as being a crazy cool time. It wasn’t because the Con was off the chain or anything. Oh no, far from it. It was one of the most disorganized events I have ever been to. Nothing happened on time, everything was late. It took two hours to get our passes and we pre-registered. My costume was half done…regardless of the fact I managed to deliver on the friend that was supposed to help me’s props. But you know, I had a totally fun weekend. I had awesome hang out time with great friends. I belive I was around Todd Holt and Derek Underhill that whole weekend starting with the rave. Okay, just calling it a rave…doesn’t give it justice. That was an epic-neonic-super-overload of joy/happiness/ecstasy/rage/bliss…Rainbows spoke to me…That was also the first time…and unfortunatly last time…I got to see Select/Start. They are this awesome little group of musicians that perform all kinds of Game and Anime Music. They are great. I think that was the first weekend I recall me being me…

9. Universal with My Grandpa

Grandpa Psychotik was the first one to ever introduce me to the majesty that is Universal Studios. Without him, I would have never gotten to experience rides like Kongfrontation, Hanna Barbarra, or Nick Studios. My trips with him were always the best. He would come get me early as hell the day of and we would get there right when the park opened and didn’t leave until they kicked us out. He always made sure I got to ride what I wanted…and believe me..back in Uni’s hey day, that wasn’t easy! I remember waiting several hours for Back to the Future and Terminator 2: 3D. Heck, I remember when Islands of Adventure was just a dust bowl…then I remember a couple of years later him taking me there 6 months after opening. Your going to see Universal on this list quite a bit by the way…it plays a big part of who I am.

8. Summer Vacation with Granny

I could go on for days about my Granny Psychotik. That woman has done so much for me…it’s really not even funny. My best memories with her were the summers I used to spend with her in West Palm Beach…and then once more in Connecticut. She would always find something fun for us to do. Even though she had to deal with work all day, she always made time to come home and spend time with me. Some of the best times I remember involved The Palm Beach Science Museum, Seaworld, Star Wars Episode I, The Pequot Museum (I’m probably really spelling that wrong), various trips to the mall, and od course trips to Denny’s and Piccadilly (again murdering the spelling). She always taught me to enjoy the simple things in life. She really shaped this twisted little mind.

7. Jurassic Park Island

Not sure why…but when I think of specific beautiful places…Jurassic Park Island at night comes to mind. I have a lot of fond memories with friends and especially my Seras there. I’m not sure why…maybe because we always ended up winding down there, maybe because I love the movie, maybe because at night it is hands down a romantic little place…WHAT EVER THE REASON!! It always sticks out in my head and deserves to be mentioned.

6. Marching Band

Some of you may or may not know this…but i was a Band Geek in High School. Yes, before I fully awakened back in my skin as Malice Psychotik…I was the Bombastic, Shaggtastic Shaggy. I never really appreciated Marching Band until my Senior year. It’s been a part of my old life that I have always missed. The people, the equipment, the uniforms, the blood, sweat, tears, and the screaming crowd (NO DAMMNIT THIS ISN’T THAT FREAKING GARTH BROOKS SONG!!!) I’ve never been able to recapture that feeling of performing. It’s a shame my bands I’ve put together never stayed together. Would have been a great outlet…but then I would have never had time to open this glorious site. I have to say the all time favorite part…was winter bus rides home at night. Never a dull moment…and when it was…be damned if it wasn’t the most relaxed I had the pleasure of being in high school.

5. Grad Night 2005

2005 was a shitty year for me. On of the best things that happened was Grad Night. Disney is actually a pretty cool destination at night. Sort of wish they would have it open late at night for people like me who…prefer it that way. It was the first time I had been there since I was a baby…so really it was the first time. Brings me to mention my friend Whitney Wood. I believe that was the first time we had ever “Hung out” like that. I know I ran into other people that night, but we kind of duded it up the whole evening. Funniest part of the whole night was Space Mountain for the second time. We had no idea that the damn thing had two different tracks…let’s just say that first drop took us by surprise. I seem to remember something else that had to do with us Statler and Woldorffing a comedian. Great night…

4. That One Night at Oz’s

My friend Oz always had people at his house. It was almost like the unofficial party central there for a while. No other night sticks out as the infamous That One Night at Oz’s…It was after one of the particularly nasty Hurricanes in 2004. I needed away from the house and so did a few other friends…so naturally…we met at the one place we knew we could get away from all, Oz’s. Not sure what was in the air that night, but be damned if it wasn’t funny as hell. Between playing video games, watching Naruto, taking a pellet gun to a cock roach, or having the giggles for like 5 hours straight…we all had a memorable night. I miss nights like that…If you are reading this Oz…do know I miss that. I miss that Oz the most…

3. Andrew Albritton

I have too many memories to share about my dear Best Friend Andrew. Me and him have been through Hell and Back. We have had good times and Bad…but I can honestly say that this guy is a dude I will never forget and I’m glad to call him my friend and brother. Earliest memory I have is of me staying over at his house and us watching Austin Powers. I seem to remember Mrs. Pam getting us awesome chicken sandwiches from Burger King and us playing some type of mech game he next day. We always shared everything…DBZ, Gundam Wing, Final Fantasy, That one girl in high school…lolz! Yeah anytime spent with him was a memorable one…to many to name.

2. Little Psychotik’s Birth

So much bad had happened to us before Jazmin was born. I had lost two dear relatives, and was in a massive Car Accident that nearly killed us. My little girl coming into the world erased all of that. We even had a rough time in the hospital…but I remember every second of every one of those days perfectly. There is not one time that I listen to HIM and not think of Jazzy. She was even born in one of two cities Seras and I spent most of our time. So cool how so much ties together. Anytime I’m down I think of that and instant repairo! Good moods a comin’

1. Trips with Seras

My number one favorite memories are all of the trips I have had with my dearest Seras. Whether it was coming back from Jensen late at night, Universal, Sebring, or Tennessee…I always loved our late night car rides. Sometimes I would be so tired, but it’s like it didn’t matter I was where I wanted to be. I had a kick ass day or weekend…and that ride home was the icing on the cake. I always think of those times while listening to Dir En Grey, Marilyn Manson, Cradle of Filth, or Avenged Sevenfold. Probably because that’s what was in the cd player 24/7…lol…Always a good time though…I love you boo…

Well any way, next year is going to be a big year for the site…I hope…New ideas are starting to come together a little more rapidly. I wanted them to be already active, but things what they are…let’s say you have to break a few eggs to make a omelette. I’m sure you will all like it. I won’t gloat…it’ll jinx it…instead I’ll just say I’m sure you’ll like it

Until Next YEAR, My Freaky Darlings, (Had to go there!)

Malice Psychotik

P.S Some honorable mentions are in need too. Not that they aren’t fond…I just don’t want to rename the list…and this isn’t Christmas anymore so 12 is a ridiculous number to use…

* My Brother Matteo Tullio- Dude anytime we have ever hung out…it turned to gold. You are right up there with Andrew. The other part of the Triforce man. I miss our early morning trips to Pogey’s…or the impromptu trips to Star Bucks out on the turnpike.

*The First Drop of Mansinthe- Words do not accurately describe that night. The most I can say is Friends Todd Holt, Seth Garner, Gerry Sparks, Heather Smith, Seras, and Me all tried Mansinthe for the first time. I, not having my bearings with me, mixed it on the high-end and made us trip balls bad! Like you’ve heard that song “Happy Together”? That was literally playing in our heads at the same time. We were all so very cat happy. All courtesy of Todd supplying us with Alcohol and Snuggy’s…and Seth raping his car…that was funny too! Good Times!

HAPPY NEW YEAR MOTHA’ TRUCKAH’S

MURRAY CHRISTMAS FREAKY DARLINGS!!!

As the day comes to an end I offer you a very fond MURRAY CHRISTMAS! No poems, no articles, no stories, or Krampus to boot….Just Murray Christmas to all…and to all a good night!

Sadistically Yours,

Psychotik Review: Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter

Hello Freaky Darlings! It’s time for another movie review. I had planned for this to come out a lot sooner. As a matter of fact, I hd a lot of things planned to come out, but this month has not went as planned at all. Plus in the light of Friday’s tragedy, I felt it in bad taste to try to compete with headlines and what you would consider “real” news. On the other hand a good friend and Psychotik Girl that you will all love to meet very soon, Cyanide LaMorte, maybe a little relief from that sort of news isn’t such a bad thing. It’s important to learn the facts, but the media has a tendency to beat you across the face with their dick about it. Keeping that in mind, let’s talk about an awesome president. Let’s review…

Psychotik Review: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

abraham_lincoln_vampire_hunter

I was soooooo excited when I saw this book was being made into a movie. Such an original concept here. And what a way to get people interested in history. Let me give you a brief summary of the movie. The film (and book) tell you the untold story of Abraham Lincoln. You see history only tells you a small part of the tale. History doesn’t tell you the story of how Honest Abe was a vampire slayer…or the real truth behind the win at Gettysburg. The story is told through the eyes of Abe Lincoln from a young age right up until the night he was shot in Ford’s theater. Lincoln was pretty well thrust into the role of vampire hunter when he witnessed his mother’s death at the hands of one. From that day forward he devoted his life to killing the vampire that took his mother. When he finally is able to kill him, he botches it and is saved by Henry Sturges (A vampire but you don’t know that…yet). Henry takes him under his wing and trains him to become a vampire killing machine. That’s all I’ll leave you with here because you really should watch the movie.

***WARNING! FROM THIS POINT ON THERE WILL BE SPOILERS***

Pros

Oh, man where do I start…The visual effects were top-notch. The story is above and beyond fantastic. The casting was really great. Everywhere you look there is something you will love. I’m sure what most vampire fans in general will enjoy is the return to dignity with the vampires. When they are not vamped out, some of them are very gritty seedy looking people. The higher up vampires of course look better dressed but they still retain the creepy air. When they vamp out, your met with a face full of razor-sharp teeth with no remorse.  The level of detail in intertwining history with fiction is also a big plus. If you are a history buff you will enjoy yourself. If not, then you will be intrigued enough to look for more info. I think my favorite instance was the explanation of the Civil War and how it was won. In the movie, the reason the South started their winning streak just before Gettysburg was the addition of vampires to the battlefield. To even the score, Abe amasses silver for the Union forces so they are properly armed. Last pro I will offer is the film looks damn pretty. It’s really hard to describe it further than that. The movie just has this quality of keeping you paying attention the whole way through.

Cons

I really had to think about this one. My only real big problem…The movie moves to fast in some areas. A few areas in general just feel rushed through and give you the feeling that their was more to be seen here. This may very well be because it’s adapted from a book, even still though it’s kind of obvious and you can’t miss it. I can’t really thing of anything else that bothered me, but then again I’ve not read the book. Maybe once I read it, I’ll go back and visit this again.

Taking all of that into consideration, I give Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter 5 out of 5 Top Hats. It really is a good movie, go see it if you haven’t. You will leave impressed. That’s will be all for now Freaky Darlings. Stay tuned for more to come soon. This time I won’t make any promises as to whats next or when…just keep an eye out.

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Malice Psychotik

Seras Psychotik

Hello, Freaky Darlings! Something occurred to me the other day…you don’t know very much about me at all. For that matter you know even less about some of the others that do little bits for the site. Why not introduce us…you know give you better idea of what goes on behind the curtain. After all, we are a pretty unique breed of creatures. So with that in mind, and with the additional freaks that have been added to the fold, I find it high time for introductions. Keep in mind, all of the “people” you are about to see…well may not be from this dimension. After all, if you can hope endless realities and time lines…why select people to help you out from just one place huh?

This first introduction is one very dear to my heart. This lady is the center of the Cheshire Cat’s world. She keeps me up when I’m down and becomes the wind under my wings to make me sore highest above all. My inspiration…my muse…Meet the Lovely…

Back Story: I was born Oana Enescu in Alexandria, Romania in the year 1722. I was born with Xeroderma Pigmentosum which is a disease that makes me sensitive to light. I was never allowed outside during the day and any touch of sunlight on my skin burned. When I was 13 a doctor by the name Faustino Vanderheide created a vaccine that would allow people like me, my family, and many others live normal lives. It is called XP23. It began as daily injections but now is yearly. Still, I was different. As my 18th birthday approached and I prepared to set out on my own, I discovered who I truly was. I was told the story of Anton Dracul from Wallachia and how he made a deal with the Four Prince’s of Hell to save his family from starvation. From this deal, the Strigoi were created. Most of you know us as Vampires. Once we reach the age of 25, the same age as Anton when he made the deal, we stop aging and the Thirst begins. The thirst for human blood. The Thirst to destroy humankind. The year is now 2012 and we have a vaccine to help control the blood lust. But the supply is running out…

Meeting Malice: Very interesting story actually…One thing I’ve developed after all of my years is a weakness for Vampires. Don’t know if it’s the pale skin, the mesmerizing eyes, or the insatiable blood lust…they just get me going. Well one particular trip to Earth 187, I was invited to a ball of sorts. To my great pleasure it was a vampire ball…While there I happened across the most rare of beauties…Oana Enescu. Apparently she was as taken away with me as I her. We tried a long dimension relationship for a time…wasn’t working too well. So I proposed she come with me on my travels. She accepted! Boy were her parent’s pissed. Still are in fact! Strigoi can hold one hell of a grudge. Since then we have seen countless things and even have a little bundle of joy, Jazmin Psychotik. Half Strigoi, Half Cheshire Cat….100% fun! OH! And before I forget this story. Most of you may wonder why she goes by Seras Psychotik. Her real name was near inmpossible for me to pronounce properly…it was also a way to stick it to her parents!

Well that’s one down…lot’s to go. Enjoy some pics below! Keep an eye open for more soon!

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Exploiting F.E.A.R…A Chat with Mike Meara of Finding Every Altar Ruined

Hello Freaky Darlings!! Happy Saturday and how are you doing? It’s been forever since I’ve done anything in the realm of an interview on this site…so why not knock off the dust and do one eh? Ha Ha! That’s exactly what I did! I sat down with a friend of mine who recently started a pretty neat band named Finding Every Altar Ruined or F.E.A.R. So far they have preformed one show and have several coming up (dates posted below). If you’re a fan of metal….you’ll enjoy what you hear….well…here…Anyway, turn it up to 11…it’s time to…

Exploiting F.E.A.R…A Chat with Mike Meara of Finding Every Altar Ruined

1111111

Malice Psychotik: How would you describe F.E.A.R’s music style?

Mike Meara: I would describe it as a mixture. we are heavy at times with a real thrash kinda attack then we can slow down to a real clean depressing single guitar and bass bring down. We are really trying to bring all emotion into our music not just anger and rage.

Malice Psychotik: Where do you find inspiration for your songs?

Mike Meara: From the world.  All around us.  The pain we go through as people, ghouls and demons are cool and all but life is much more frightening and complex

Malice Psychotik:  What started F.E.A.R as a band? How did you assemble the group?

Mike Meara: Well I have been in 5 bands in the last 5 years as a bassist/guitarist, and I never found there what I wanted to truly do.  Being from Okeechobee I would have to drive the 45 minutes to an hour every week to make it to any kinda practice and I would always be on time and everyone else would be late even though they lived there. It became very upsetting.  After about a 2 month drop off from doing anything musicaly I decided to start my own project with the idea of I will do what ever I want with my ideas.  So after I had some good ideas I contact friends from previous projects like Systematic Hate and Edge Of Eternity.  Once I got the right group of people together it was more or less pretty smooth sailing.

Malice Psychotik: Long term, what is your goal as a band? Are you just doing this for the shit’s and the giggles or are you looking to move mountains and change lives?

Mike Meara: I can’t speak for every one involved but for me, This is my life.  It is very important to me to be able to drive around states and play for anyone who wants to listen.  I could care less about money or fame, even though the money would be a plus.  I just really like what we do and the message we are trying to send.

Malice Psychotik: How long have you been playing music? What first got you interested?

Mike Meara:Yeah, hard to say really, I got my first Bass when I was like somewhere from 13-15, so I guess technically about 9-11 years. I enjoyed playing it but I wasn’t very good for a long time, more just seeing what I could do here and there.  After I heard a band called Megadeth is when I truly got inspired to really take this seriously. I got a hold of a Megadeth Tape “Countdown To Extinction”
and I was just blown away that you could play like that, it was fast technical and catchy, with choruses you could sing and riffs you could feel in your bones

Malice Psychotik: What matters more to you musicianship or showmanship?

Mike Meara: I would say a mixture.  From a player’s point of view it is much harder to play something complex and be right on the money every single time you play it.  But I know showmanship can really bring a crowd in.  I love watching an active band for sure, I don’t want to watch anyone just stand there and play that’s boring.

Malice Psychotik: You believe in moshing at shows or are you more the mellow out and listen to the tunes sort of guy?

Mike Meara: Honestly, it really depends on who I am with and what band is playing.  If it’s the first time I am seeing a band I will watch and listen, but if I know the band and I like what they do. I’ll throw down.

Malice Psychotik: Do you think Furry’s have a place in the world of metal music?

Mike Meara: I believe there was once a band like that called Coq Roq.  They dressed up like chickens and did the Burger King Commercials some years back.

Malice Psychotik: Do you believe that Boston woman are a paler, uglier breed of woman than say woman from other walks of life?

Mike Meara: Depends lol.  haven’t been around much but I have heard a thing or 2

Malice Psychotik: What is your general opinion of Apache Helicopters?

Mike Meara: It’s more powerful than a young boys wish.  An Absolute death machine

Malice Psychotik: What is the oddest sex move you’ve ever heard of or preformed? Describe. (i.e. Hooking the Marlin, The Angry Pirate, The Monkey Face, The Houdini, Italian Bed and Breakfast, Flying Leprechaun…)

Mike Meara: i am tied between the Cosby Sweater and the Charizard.  The Cosby Sweater you eat a bunch of fruity pebbles then throw up all over your others chest and it resembles a Cosby sweater. the Charizard is right before you bust you light your others pubic region on fire then put it out with your baby batter smack them in the face and yell “You don’t have enough badges to train me!”

There you have it guys and ghouls! Mike from Finding Every Altar Ruined I thank you for my readers! You handled this like a Sir!!! In case any of you are in the Lake Worth area, they will be there today at the Speak Easy Lounge. The show starts at 5pm and features some others bands. Party ends at 11pm. I believe they go on sometime in the middle. Other future dates are as follows: Tropical Martini January 4th and at Limitless Studios on January 14th. Show up, say you heard about em’ here and show em’ some love for your Dear Ol’ Malice! Check out links below for Facebook Page and Videos…That will be all for now…i need to crawl up in bed and take a cat nap.

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Malice Psychotik

Psychotik Review: The Hunger Games

Hello Freaky Darlings! Good Evening! If you have the fan page liked on Facebook and actually read it, you might recall me saying a little bit ago that the Psychotik Family was going to get a bit larger. Well…let me give you a brief intro to one of the new inmates Lotta Tits…Um Seras is telling my that’s not right…she’s shaking her head…Lotta Stitches! Oh…well yes there are. Anyway, she is a lovely Homunculus that I happened across in Earth Parallel 420…Poor Dear…tragic story…but that will all come in good time Darlings…good time.
Right now I have something a bit different. Or dear Lotta has produced for us a short review on the Blockbuster smash, The Hunger Games. She just loved the absolute shit out of the books and has a pretty good appreciation for the movie. And since things have been quiet around her I figure why not let others have a crack at this, huh? So with no more time to waste…you people get hungry…hungry for….Editor’s Note: There is a good reason she is reviewing this…haven’t seen it…haven’t read it

Psychotik Review: The Hunger Games

Okay, so first off I’d like to just put out there that this is about my 5th time trying to review this movie. Anyone who knows me knows that I am completely obsessed with this series. I’ve read these books about 8 times each and I have SOBBED throughout them all. Seriously, you would think someone just murdered my dog the way I was sobbing over these books.

So it goes without saying that when I try to review the movie, I get so jacked up on details that I completely miss the “review” part and I flat-out give an essay on it. On the plus side, if I had submitted my first draft I’m sure I would make many a high-schooler very happy for doing their book report for them.

But I digress. The Hunger Games is a delightfully violent post-apocalyptic series that centers around an evil government that forces a group of children between the ages of 12 and 18 to fight to the death on a live televised “reality show” if you will, for their amusement. I’m not going to get into how many Hipsters are claiming it’s a plagiarism of Japan’s best seller Battle Royale. There are some similarities, but it IS different. And in a good way. Also there’s a love triangle in there, but it seriously isn’t focused on in a Twilight “Oh I like two boys poor me” kind of way. Katniss would kick Bella’s ass in a heartbeat. And I’d pay to see that.
wpid-hunger_games1-460x307

The movie made its debut at the end of the Harry Potter craze, and right in the middle of the Twilight hysteria  That being said, I really feel like the director dropped the ball as far as making this as spectacular as the books. I mean, yes the books are ALWAYS going to be better. That’s a given. But it really felt like the director didn’t even TRY in certain areas.
It’s a slow-paced movie. Painfully slow. There’s little to no explanation on why they are even forced to go into the Arena, who the Capitol is, who the districts are…the list goes on. It can also be VERY confusing if you don’t read the books first. This point was proven to me as I watched it with a group of friends who had never read the book. I ended up having to pause the movie just to give a huge run down on why things were happening.

However if you DO read the books first, well then you’re so let down that you want to punch a puppy. There is WAY too much changed for NO reason. Not even for time reasons. For example, why bother putting a shot of the family cat in there if you can’t even get the description right? How hard would it be to get a friggen’ orange cat?
I digress again. As much as it seems like I’m bashing this movie, I did enjoy it. There were a lot of things that were very amusing to see, such as the Tracker Jacker scene, and I give a standing ovation to the casting department. EVERY SINGLE actor was PERFECT for their role. There were very minor discrepancies, but as a whole, that cast was spot-on. And let’s all take a moment to recognize Lenny Kravitz as Cinna.

I don't know who he is, but I'll be damned if that ain't the coolest beard...

I don’t know who he is, but I’ll be damned if that ain’t the coolest beard…

All in all I’d give this movie 3 out of 5 Top Hats, as Malice would put it.

There you have it guys and ghouls…Let’s have a round of applause for Lotta Titties….I’m sorry…Lotta Stitches! Keep an eye out for a new section to the site. I will be introducing you to our new family members very soon. Also, keep an eye out for more movie reviews including Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Dark Shadows, Dark Knight Rises, Bathory, and Mr. Hush.

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

A Psychotik Review: The Amazing Spiderman

Well Hello, My Freaky Darlings! How did your Holiday go? Good I hope! Well now that Thanksgiving and Black Friday are out-of-the-way, Malicimo is up for some movie reviews. First up, a new personal favorite, The Amazing Spiderman. I was blown away by this film. If you have been paying attention to previous posts about it, I didn’t have high hopes. In fact, I really thought this one was going to be a real stinker. Rather pleasant surprise, I was very wrong. Such a good job was done with this film. So many good things to say…why waste it all on the intro. Let’s chat movie’s shall we?

A Psychotik Review: The Amazing Spiderman

I think it goes without saying, I need to be a little less wordy with my movie reviews. So hopefully, for the last time, I’ll be changing up the format a bit. That being said, let’s talk plot. The Amazing Spiderman is advertised as the untold story. You have the basic plot of Peter Parker gets powers from a special spider (still genetically engineered, face it we know radioactive won’t do that stuff!) A bad decision by Peter, leads to Uncle Ben’s untimely death. And Parker learns with great power, comes great responsibility. It has all of that…and more! First off, we have a change in love interest. That’s right guys and ghouls, no Mary Jane Watson this time round. This time we have the beautiful Gwen Stacy (Played by the very pretty Emma Stone). I should have probably mentioned first the fact we have a plot with Peters Parents (this is where the untold story comes in.) Apparently, Mr. Parker was one of the best genetic scientists at Oscorp (Yes, Oscorp plays the role it’s supposed to as a big bad mean corporation). Dr. Parker and Dr. Curt Connors were apparently working on splicing animal genes with human genes to cure different ailments. Something happens, and Peters Mom and Dad have to leave in a hurry. Flash forward a couple of years and Peter finds his Dad’s hidden documents. This prompts him to sneak into Oscorp, which prompts him to sneak into a restricted area full of genetically engineered spiders…which get’s him bit (we all know the basics of what happens) Moving on, Peter impresses Dr. Connors by using his Dad’s formula to finish what he’s working on. Of course as you know, comic book rules state something must go wrong….and it does and Connors becomes the lizard. Really, you should watch the movie from here, because I don’t want to ruin it!

Pros:

What did I like? A lot really! The casting was..eh eh hmm…Amazing. Andrew Garfeild makes a perfect Spiderman. He has the charisma, the attitude, and a certain gusto that makes him leaps, bounds, and web-slings above Tobey Maguire. Emma Stone plays a much better love interest as Gwen Stacey than Kirsten Dunst. Sally Feild as Aunt May is a little awkward at first, but she grows on you. Martain Sheen gives a new level of depth to Uncle Ben. You don’t just get to see good ol’ Uncle Ben, you get to see a more realistic side of him. He’s not this glorified father figure, you see some flaws in him…it’s more grounding. I don’t know where to start with Rhys Ifans as Dr. Connors. Couldn’t picture a better person in the role.

The way that they handle Spiderman in general is a big plus. Finally, we have a Spiderman that offers the quips and one liners we all love. That was always something that killed me with the Rami films. The suit takes a little getting used to. I can tell you the one thing that irks me most about it they fix in the game. A simple addition of a red utility belt ties the whole thing together. The thing I love most about the movie that i didn’t think I was going to is the Web-Slingers. Yes, the film actually acknowledges the fact Peter is smart and likes to invent things. Watch in one scene where you can see a door lock invention in his room. Although he doesn’t create the stuff that is turned into web (that’s actually a Oscorp invention. Little pills that contain liquid steel that can be turned into a cable). But, he does create the device that spins it into webbing. Last thing I’ll mention…his super strength. Most people may not realize this, but Spiderman is pretty freakin’ strong…this time it shows and manages to add some rather humorous moments.

Last but not least. The Stan Lee cameo. I’m not going into much detail, all I will tell you is when you see it you will shit awesome bricks…and laugh for days on end. Best one…ever!

Cons:

As far as things I didn’t like, the list isn’t that long. The only things I can mention is one scene at the end and how the lizard looked. I just feel he could have looked a little better, maybe a little more sinister looking. I mean he was ok, but still out of all of the incarnations of the lizard, he could have been better. The scene at the end I’m talking about is…eh hmm…wait a minuet…

***SPOILER ALERT***

The scene where Gwen Stacy is trying to create the antidote for the Lizard…virus? Either way, she is making the antidote and trying to keep Lizard out of the lab. In  a last-ditch effort she pulls the trigger for the Halon Gas System. She then proceeds to run through the gas to the other end of the room…effortlessly…and hide in a closet. Well it was all for not, as the system failed to deter the Connors in any way. My Problem? Halon Gas removes all of the oxygen from the area, in this case the room, to extinguish fires in a lab. It’s really the best way to kill a chemical fire. In no way would she or Connors…two oxygen dependent organisms…be able to survive the room without the aid of a gas mask. Now I could be wrong, it could have been some other system…but to the best of my knowledge, systems like this are always halon…and that is what it looks like. If I’m wrong correct me.

Well, I’m going to stop here with my verdict. The Amazing Spiderman gets5 out 5 Top Hats. I really thought I was going to hate this one. I really thought it was going to stink. Thank you for proving me wrong…an epic Spiderman movie is possible. Hat’s off Darlings…

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Malice Psychotik

P.S Make sure to watch after the credits for a scene you won’t want to miss…could the next film involve my favorite Spiderman villain Green Goblin…only time will tell….

Happy Turkey Day, My Freaky Darlings!

Well, I hope all of you are out to a good start for Thanksgiving Celebration. Who doesn’t love a holiday about consuming copious amounts of delicious food. A holiday grounded in gluttony….fabulous! OK I do realize there was that origin part with the Native Americans and the fellows with the fancy hats, but let’s be adult and call it what it is. You can be Thankful all you want, but at the core this Holiday has mostly lost it’s feeling. To be honest, observation will show today has a different meaning. To quote our new artist Lotta Pieces (You will all be meeting her very soon!) Thanksgiving is more like a Tailgate for the new American Holiday…Black Friday…which now starts on a Tuesday…(You humans are fabulously fickled!)

For those of you unfamiliar with Black Friday (and if you are, crawl out from the rock you are hiding in and do please join the rest of us in the light) is the biggest retail day of the year. This is the day everyone buys copious amounts of…ur…um…things…for the next big celebration Christmas…X-mas….or Winter Solstice…which ever you celebrate. Not to say people don’t use Black Friday to buy things for Hanukkah or Kwanza either…I’m loosing myself…ANYWAY…Biggest sale day of the year where copious amounts of things are grabbed up instead of being eaten up. How ironic a Holiday founded on Greed right after Gluttony (Why can’t we have more founded on the concept of Lust? Ha Ha!) So to the people preparing for the Black Friday Holiday, Happy Black Friday.

In all seriousness, Happy Holiday to all from us here at Encyclopedia Psychotika. Do attempt to be safe for the holiday and try not to kill anyone (Goes double for those of you going to Black Friday!) I’ll be enjoying the Holiday with my dearest Seras and the little Psychotik in our little hovel of a town. Getting out with the locals should be…different. I really must find a better place for us to reside…Now eat some fucking Turkey people!

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Malice Psychotik

Romney, Sashay…Away.

Well, unless you have been living under a rock with tar poured deep in your ears and your eyes sewn shut….you know that Barack Obama has won another term in office…this Psychotik can’t be happier. The world is a lot safer now with out that crack pot trying to run it. (And that’s coming from me and I’m pretty sure I’m certifiable INSANE!) Wow, did I just say that!? See that’s the thing with this election, this one just seems like it has been different. Not sure if it’s the candidates, the amount of bullshit special interest groups, the fact that 99% of the GOP are whack jobs, The fact the Republican President Elect was a complete and utter numskull,or the fact the media has basically made the presidential campaign a sporting event…WHAT EVER IT IS!! It just seems to me their was a lot more riding on this one. Normally, I wouldn’t be compelled to write anything more than a couple of words on the topic, but this time round I feel a few more words are very necessary. I mean the fact that a weirdo like Romney made it as far as he did, has really shaken me to the core about the state of this great nation. How does someone who really knows nothing of how a country should be ran….or for that matter how to be a human being…almost get to become president? (Well not as close as that, he got killed with the vote…but I’ll get to that) I think what people needed more was to hear the Truth…Because if we only knew the Truth about it…Maybe we could work a way around it….(couldn’t help it!)

The Convenient Truth

Like I said, I find it very disturbing that Mittens made it as far as he did. The man clearly had a screw loose. How does a man go so far on thoughts and ideas that have no backing or proof and is constantly shown to be a liar? BLIND PEOPLE. FOLLOWING OTHER BLIND PEOPLE, FOLLOWING PEOPLE WITH AN AGENDA!!! You can not be pro-Obama, Hell I’ll admit that man ain’t perfect and has his fair share of bad ideas. But to vote for someone like Mitt Romney, who very obviously has nobodies interests in mind but him and his small group of friends based on the fact you don’t like Obama…is ludicrous. You do know there are other people running right? You do know the two-party system stays around because you won’t vote for anyone else right? Since when should we compromise our country, our home…because you don’t like this guy and the other guy is the only other choice. That’s like facing down to murderers, and your going to choose the guy with the Chainsaw because the guy with the machete isn’t dressed right!

I think the worst part is that the proof was right there what this guy had in mind…He didn’t hide it, or make it a secret…until it started to look real bad! Then he would look you straight in the face and lie! This man was anti-gay, anti-poor, anti-woman, anti-FEMA, (starting to think I’m singing Marilyn Manson’s “1996”)…

…The main bullet point you should take away from this is he was against a lot of things. Some of the ideas he had (Abortion, Rape, Foreign Policy, The Poor, The Rich, Taxes, Business Ethics) were totally out there and not based in fact at all. To perfectly understand this man, is to acknowledge the fact that he does not so much spout off facts…as much as he rejects reality and instead substitutes his own. Don’t take my word for it though…follow the yellow brick road:
Mitt Romney: 99 Facts
Politifacts: All False Statements Involving Mitt Romney

That’s just a few. A simple Google Search will reveal all! It just disturbs me to think of how many people will get behind the wrong guy when they are afraid…Historically speaking that has never been a good thing…no matter what plane of reality you reside…

People Are Crazy

Now that we have all of the serious crap out-of-the-way, let’s move to the nonsense category. You know humans are interesting to watch! Some of the stuff that they do is just, well entertaining to say the least. Examples? I have plenty! Like did you know a woman in Kenya had twins on election day? Not that weird or funny…unless you know she named one Barack Obama and the other Mitt Romney. Now Barack is understandable (His Dad is from Kenya) but Mitt Romney…just cruel! Or the lady in Chicago that was in line to vote and in labor. Not just in Labor really, but contractions 5 mins. apart “OMG should totally be in the hospital right now!” in labor. In Michigan a man tried to vote…died…was brought back to life…then voted. His first question when he was brought back?: “Did I vote?”

Seriously, you people are a laugh riot…but without you…their are no smiles or rainbows!

Election Night Ya’ll!

Last thing I want to mention and then I’ll go, did anyone else get the feeling the media made this election something it wasn’t? Like, they made it out to be a little closer to boost ratings. Here’s why I’m thinking this. When I first started watching the numbers roll in, I was kind of concerned. It was really looking like Romney had an edge. Then it’s starts getting neck and neck for a bit. I think about midnight was when I got the news the election was already called. Obama destroyed Romney by over 100 electoral votes and by over 3 million in the popular vote. Now to me, that says the media knew more than what they let on…they just tried dragging it out a bit. I can’t prove it…but I can think it…and that’s what I’m gonna do!

In closing what a crazy race it has been. Not near as entertaining as Ru Paul’s Drag Race, but still. And I do believe Ru said it best after the election on Facebook “Obama Shantae, You Stay. Mitt Romney…Sashay, Away.” I still think it would have been funny to have the whole thing decided by Obama and Romney having to lip sync for their life…but we can dream…and I am a dreamer. So to all of you Romney supporters out there that are going to send me hate mail now, I leave you with a thought from me and a quote from Ru Paul. Your candidate may have lost, but it’s not the end of the world. Don’t believe in falsehoods from corporations. This race was between more than what you knew. Be glad Corporate America didn’t win. “And remember girls, If you can’t love yourself…How the hell you gonna’ love anyone else? Can I get an Amen!? Play the music!” Why certainly Ru…Certainly!

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

2 Big Announcements…1 Post!!!

Hello My Freaky Darlings! I hope you all had an excellent October and a most glorious Halloween. It’s that time of year again where all of the ghouls, ghosts, and monsters have to tuck away for another year. Very Sad indeed…well except those Christmas Ghosts…lucky bastards get to have all the damn fun they want. October is behind us and the Christmas Holiday Season ahead of us. If you still follow the word of the Mayans, the end of the world will be coming too! (You’re going to be so disappointed!) If your like me though, and you believe that the world will still be here in a couple of months, I have some big news. One is about some changes being made to the site that I’m sure you will all come to love dearly. The other is a big announcement coming from that loveable theme park just above my head, Universal Studios (I’ll close with that!)

As for the big announcement for the site, I’ve come to realize something. I can’t do this by myself anymore. It would be totally cool if I could, but between work, creative writing, being a boyfriend, and having a little time to myself…I just feel I’m letting you down. Look what happened this month! It’s October, I got to make one post…one….WELL NO MORE!!  Your dear Uncle Malice has worked up his Cheshire Cat Magik and pulled some characters out that I’m sure you are all dying to meet! We will have two new writers…two artists…a photographer…and count it…SEVEN (like the number of deadly sins!) models, The Psychotik Girls! I’m currently working up a proper intro to all of them as we speak..ur..uh…write…for now! If you look below we will have some pictures of what some of us were up to over the holiday (Yes people, get used to it…I do consider Halloween a Holiday…Get over yourself!)

Be sure to go up to Universal this Weekend and get your picture with Bumblebee! It’s just this weekend…BE A DREAMER!! LIVE IT!!!

The next announcement comes from Universal Studios Orlando. Yesterday night, they made it known that Transformers was going to be finding a home on the backlot. Yes the demolition over at SS44 has finally been confirmed as Transformers: The Ride (But all you good Freaky Darlings already knew that didn’t you!) I can’t be more excited over this! I know the Transformers movies have their problems, but face it! It’s the only realistic looking Transformers movies we have got!! And the ride looks awesome (See video below) Incase most of you don’t know, it is going to be very similar to The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman. Same ride car, same mixture of 3D and practical effects. So get ready Orlando…the War for Cybertron is coming your way Summer 2013!

As I said, we will have a proper intro to everyone soon enough. Some of the writers are currently working on some articles right now. That is if they aren’t fighting…you wouldn’t belive how hard it is to run on an office with a bunch of monsters and ghouls. Thank Cthulhu my secretary is Vampire, or I’d have my hands full!

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Malice Psychotik

My Shmexy self as The Crow

Seras as her sexy vampiric self!

On the left is one of our guest artists and on the right is one of our new-ish artists!

Halloween Horror Nights 22 Revisited…

You know kiddies, there really was a few more things that I could have mentioned about Halloween Horror Nights 22 that I didn’t. Things that didn’t really translate to the review like personal experience, things we all did, or you know that stuff. I’d like to take the time to share at least 3 cool stories from HHN 22 with you…why? Because I feel like a bum when I’m not doing something on this site for you people to read! lol ENJOY!

Every year we have ever gone to HHN, we have a had a little goofy joke that follows us around all night. One year it was something about the JAWS Ride (Miss you Bruce)! Another year it was about my bro getting scared by a duck call! This year we may have created something for the ages. Yes, Encyclopedia Psychotika is the front-runner in a new way to completely diffuse a scareactor situation. What is it you ask? SIMPLE!!! Emergency Gangnam Style! Ever find yourself in the midst of a horde of scareactors? I know you have this year ((wink wink nudge nudge)), and I bet you got the p[ants scared off you. Well if you want to prevent further loosing of ones pants, follow these simple steps. Set up a sign with your friends. Ours was doing the lasso loop in the area and yelling “Opa Gangnam Style!” Then do the dance! ((See below for music video to learn the dance moves.))Simple as that! No scareactor can resist it. You never know…you may get them to follow in some sort of weird flash mob. Wanted to do it with all of the Walkers but…wasn’t in the cards. If I find video of it, I will post it. We were doing it all night that night.

Another thing about that night I feel necessary to mention is, if you ever have the chance to go to HHN on a full moon…do it! I looks awesome! The atmosphere is like ramped up all the way, you just have no idea. The only thing that could have made it more perfect would have been it being a bit cooler. unfortunately, it was hot as balls outside! But the full moon…with the graveyard…and the Walkers…It just kind of made things 20% cooler (Yes I went for a MLP reference while talking about HHN and I don’t give a hoot!) The only downside I for see for you is….crazy shit happens on a full moon. I mean we ended up having such a rough time getting there because of what I like to call “Full Moon Madness.” Now before all of you go thinking I’m weird an superstitious…I’m not that bad. “Full Moon Madness” is the phenomenon that happens because everyone else is that superstitious and let’s it be an excuse to act stupid. Fools forget how to drive, forget how to act…like they lost their freakin’ mind! Wasn’t so bad that night, but man it could have been worst I’m sure. Just thought I would throw the warning out there before a bunch of people try to go to HHN on a Full Moon and blame little old me.

You know funny thing is I swear I had more to talk about. As I have been sitting her typing a few paragraphs and retyping them…I really can’t remember. This kiddies, is why you should always make sure you have a pen and paper handy. Oh and don’t try to watch Power Rangers while typing an article…That helps too! Well I have managed to procrastinate house work for another little bit. Time to get off my ass and do something constructive. Have a fun day Freaky Darlings!

Until Next Time My, Freaky Darlings,

Malice Psychotik

No Escape…Halloween Horror Nights 22

Happy October, My Freaky Darlings! It’s that time again! The joyous time of year where all of us freaks, madmen, monsters, and weirdos feel are just a little more accepted (Not that it really matters!) Well, a week ago we made our annual trip to Halloween Horror Nights. I have to say another great year down, was a shaky start at first with lack of website among other things. They really surprised me this year though. Not to say it was perfect, but definately some of my favorite houses. I will warn, this year I didn’t make it to the shows. Funds being what they were, we just couldn’t go Express (Something that will be remedied next year!) The last couple of years though I haven’t been too impressed with Bill and Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure anyway…so no big deal. Would have really enjoyed 20 Penny Circus, but alas it wasn’t in the cards. Let’s stop the dilly with the dally and jump into this thing huh?

No Escape…Halloween Horror Nights 22

We ended up getting out…they are going to be soooo pissed!!!

Houses

7) Universal’s House of Horrors– I really wanted to like this house more. I loved the concept, I think there was a lot of room for good scares. I did receives at least two really good scares. I just think it could have been better. What made me have a bad taste about this one? Simple! The house scenes and everything were done in UV paint. I know what they were going for, trying to make you feel as if you were walking into the living film, it just could have been better. In fact, I really feel houses like this are lazy. To top it off, there was no facade. You just walked into the beginning scenes which were very much like the beginning to All Nite DIE-in: Take 2. What was the reason for this house being so thrown together? Again…Simple! Remember a couple of months back when I reported that the seventh house was going in SS44? I have no proof, but it’s my opinion that this house really was thrown together pretty quick. I never did find anybody who posted a building permit for that location. Also looking around, the floats that were supposed to be housed in that area were next to it in a rather temporary storage. Not bad if they did throw it together last minuet…but it had room for improvement.

6) Alice Cooper: Welcome to My Nightmare– This house was a lot better than people give it credit! I love Alice Cooper and his style of shock. This house displayed that nicely…Alice’s own personal brand of madness. Why so low on the list then? Well that’s just how good the other houses were! I managed to go through with a real energetic cast. You had twisted nurses, asylum patients, angst teens, and of course Steven and Alice. The theory was you walked through several of his greatest hits showing the personification of the songs themselves. My only real problem was I wanted more! I think the one in Hollywood was better. I know they wanted to make it different, but maybe they should have made it the same. At any rate, don’t miss it…Alice will know! (P.S…Keep an eye to the writing on the walls for a hint to what you are about to see next. If you’re an Alice Cooper Fan…you’ll know.)

5) Silent Hill– First house of the night and really set the pace. I love Silent Hill and I love this house. I was in total fanboy overload!! The nurses, the music, the other creepy tidbits…every Silent Hill fans dream. Even managed to catch Pyramid Head, which Seras tried to take home…I think she scared him. The best parts are the opening scene and facade, the janitor scene (which is very disturbing to say the least), and Pyramid Head. Really wish there would have been more of him. You did have a mess load of nurses though…I suppose that made up for it. Room for improvement? Maybe a little more energy on the scareactors part. As far as design wise, Universal possess tech to make it ten fold scarier. Maybe when they optioned the rights, they got a few more years out of it…and this won’t be the last we will see of good ol’ Silent Hill. One could hope! Either way…don’t miss it!

4) Penn & Teller New(Kd) Las Vegas– For a funny house this was higher on the list because A) it was trippy B) it had surprisingly good scares C) the interactive aspect D) Penn and Teller paid my $40 bucks to bump it up! LOL Just Kidding…they gave me $10 and thats why it’s #4! Anyway, this was the best of the typical fun houses I have been though. For years, Psychoscarapy: Home for the Holidays was my favorite…this house dethroned it. In this house you will find everything you love about sin city…everything you love horribly irradiated with nuclear waste. You see, Penn and Teller aren’t the kind of people to let a little thing like nuclear waste get them down…NO!! In fact the see the wonderful opportunity to turn a negative into a positive…and make some cash on the side. My favorite parts in this house is the kitchen scene and then the wedding scene. Both got me good…some more than others…Seras. Would have been higher on the list if we would have went the week before when Penn and Teller were actually there!!! Would have been number one!!!

3) Gothic– You know I almost skipped this house? We were running low on time, and so far all night I hadn’t heard any good things about this one. We ended up lucking out though and hit Gothic and Dead End last minuet…I would have been mad if I had missed it. I was taken away by how cool this house really was. You really felt like you walked onto the site of an old cathedral being renovated. So many good scares…I really lost count! Kudo’s to the Gargoyle that got into the Italian “Eh!” match with me…you made my night. I absolutely loved the candle scene, the catwalk scene, and the nice midnight stroll on the roof. You will be scared in this house and you will be taken away by the beauty at the same time (Pretty much how they get you! Bait and Switch!) This house again proving that Uni doesn’t require fancy movie and TV properties to scare the crap out of you…however…the next house sort of ruins what I just said…

2) The Walking Dead: Dead Inside– This is THE perfect zombie house…never will there be anything more accurate for a zombie house or scarezone. So many emotions felt in one house! Universal was able to bring to life The Walking Dead in a way I never though possible. The scenes that you walk through are every bit as iconic as they are in the show. You really never know when a walker is going to come at you. Could be here…could be there! The very end is my favorite part. Let’s say…i think they were lying when they said House of Horrors had more scareactors in a single scene…wait till you get to the end of this one. Without giving too much away…let’s say your personal bubble is greatly reduced and if you are afraid of zombies…your going to love this. Don’t miss it…as a matter of fact…go through it twice!!!

1) Dead End– Well we are at the end of the count down…may favorite house of the year. Another one I nearly didn’t get too. Boy I’m glad I went. Really wish I could have moved into this old house…it has a certain character…By character I mean it scares the piss right out of you at every turn. By far the most scares in one house all night. This is why it got number one!! Could tell whether it was all the things that weren’t what they seemed…or the glowy white ghost that get’s you at every turn…but this house just got me! And that’s rare!!! Do not…and I repeat…do not miss this house! It will become your White Buffalo. I can’t even peg down a favorite scene it was that good. I suppose the scenes with the glowy white ghost were the best…BEWARE OF THE GLOWY WHITE GHOST!!!

Street Performance

I will touch on this real quick. I wasn’t big fan of the idea of roaming hordes of scareactors. The no scarezone idea had been tried before in 07′ and failed horribly. This year made me a believer. You never know who is going to catch you and where they are just kept moving all night. What I thought was even cooler was the music queue was moving all night. They actually moved the sound track to fit who was in the area…nice touch. I also loved that fact that when I was amongst the vampires…I was mistaken as scareactor…like 20 times! Had three pictures taken of me…(I hope they caught my good side!) I really wish I would have gotten more pictures of them for you, but that night was hectic…little one was sick, no express passes, having to rush whilst being worried…pictures were just not on my mind this year. I will add what I have though to the Encyclopedia Psychotika Facebook page though if you want to have a look. I think my favorites ended up being the Vampires (Real surprise there!)

In closing, this was a good year to go. I definitely felt like it was money well spent. Can’t wait for next year, and wish I could go again this year! As I said i was not able to hit the shows. My dear friend Samhain however was able to hit Bill and Ted, so maybe she will be so kind as to send me a small review. Also!! I will be collecting some reviews from our fellow cast of weirdos that went with us, and post them as well…why just take my opinion on the night…right? (Hee Hee That rhymed) Stay tuned for more madness to come!

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Malice Psychotik

P.S I re-preposed to Seras under the archway to the cemetery….SHE SAID YES!! CONGRATS TO ME!!

Seras, Me, and ArnieFreeze…the rest of you should have been there damn it!!!

Halloween Horror Nights 22 Revealed!! And Ranked!!

Holy Shit on  a carbuncle!! It has been ages since I have anything new to say about Halloween Horror Nights! A bit slow to the punchline they’ve been this year! Top that with massive amounts of depression, massive amounts of happiness, total loads of debauchery, and boat load of liquor and what you get is quite possibly the biggest bi-polar orgasm the world has ever seen!!! AT ANY RATE!!! We have some Halloween Horror Nights 22 business to get down to…let’s begin!

Theme and Icon:

This year really doesn’t have one.  No icon…No theme. Well I suppose with the list of houses you could say the Theme is AWESOME!! One word with a shit load of exclamation points! What I’m taking from all of this is they are trying to strip the event down to the basics…haunted houses. Maybe they are trying to see if they can survive on the mazes alone. Maybe I’m over thinking it and they were a bit busy. Maybe they spent have the year pulling the pud and threw this stuff together at the last-minute! I DON’T KNOW!! What I do know is, they have a hell of a house line up and this is all I really have to say on this bullet point…moving on!

Website:

I look forward to this year in and year out. After one HHN falls I begin the wait for the next…the only thing that tides me over is the website coming active over the summer. So what do I think of the website this year? DAMN PATHETIC!!! No Games…No Extras…And they made us all wait until a month before the event to give us anything!!! Uni this is not your A-Game in this area. As craptastic as 19’s website was, it was still better than a hallow frame-work! Shame on you!!! The lack of website could be explained by the lack of theme…but still…a game or two wouldn’t have killed ya!

Shows:

As you might have guessed I’m saving the best for last…the houses. However, I’m impressed with the shows (or rather the new show!) Yeah they only ever add one show, and I’m cool with that. As long as it’s not the bad 30 minuet mockery of Rocky Horror Picture Show…or freakin’ Brian Brushwood…I’m cool. The 20 Penny Circus looks like the perfect act to fit in with HHN. Bill and Ted has been hit and miss the last couple of year to be honest. Last year was good, but still not up to snuff from years like 05′-07′. Maybe they will pull out some stops this year. Just look at what has been in pop culture for 2012…and there you have it!

**If you would like to know more about 20 Penny Circus, check out their Facebook page HERE

Scarezones:

Not to thrilled to say this but I will. there will be no set zones this year. Yep, all of the barriers are down! If someone wants to chase you from one end of the park to the other…they can! One thing that does have me excited is that supposedly there is going to be no personal space. They can touch you. Now in years past, I’ve had scareactors do this anyway…so I’m curious as to how this will all pan out. The only thing is they tried this back in 07′, and it didn’t work. Maybe this year will be different, It’s anyone’s guess. The different “hordes” of scareactors include: Vampires, Warriors, Prisoners, Traditionals, Beasts, and a new breed The Iniquitus. At least the scareactors sound interesting…

***UPDATE***

As I am writing this HHN Crypt posted on their Facebook page some photos of the street elements for this years event. I’m a little impressed. They are going to have some sort of set dressing. It appears that the Walking Dead: Dead Inside will spill out onto the street with a walker area. Other areas look to be taken over by cemetery. There was also some pictures of vampire posters posted. I’m a little more hopeful.

Houses:

The meat an potatoes of this article…the moment you have been waiting for…my pre-ranking for this year’s event!! Now, yesterday was the media preview, and I’ve seen a bit. So far I’m impressed with what I have seen. Thank you to all the websites that were there and spread the word over the internet. So here we go…

7) Gothic- The only reason I’ve ranked this last is I don’t know much about it like I do the rest. The premise is there, to be honest I think it will be cool…I’m just not convinced it will be better than the other ones. I could be very wrong with this house, but hey I’m ready to be proved wrong. Just something doesn’t seem that scary about Gargoyles…not sure what it is.

6) Dead End– I’ve seen very interesting things about this house. However, I can’t rank it that high because this house was done two years ago. I think I will like it, because I liked that house! I love the real hidden scares. Sneaky is good…I just hope I don’t keep getting the feeling of Deja Vu.

5) Penn & Teller New(kd) Vegas- I only put this one here because I know it’s going to be a fun house. I can’t very well put a fun house in a pre-rank above some of the phenomenal looking ones. You never know though, Penn and Teller are who they are. The thought of it being a fun house could prove to be a load of…well…Bull Shit!

4) Alice Cooper- Welcome to My Nightmare- I have seen the walk through of Hollywood’s version of this last year. Damn impressive! HHN meshes so well with Alice Coopers particular brand of rock music. The godfather of shock rock’s HHN maze may prove to be quite…shocking! Alice Cooper said it best with his announcement, “Welcome to my nightmare…I think you’re gonna like it!”

3) The Walking Dead- I’m going out on a limb making this my number 3. I wanted to make it 2 or 1 but the other two have my attention more. At the core of it this house is still a zombie house. I’m not saying it won’t stand out against other zombie houses. Far from it! There are some pretty iconic scenes in this house. My problem is with the fact it’s going to be a walk through of those scenes instead of a linear house. I could be wrong, but that’s the fun of these things…

2) Universal’s House of Horrors- This one…this is one to watch. The news on this house is there will be two firsts. One is a scene in which you have to crawl on your hands and knees while scareactors loom over head. The second achievement comes in the final room of the house. Supposedly it will set a record for the most scareactors in a single scene. It would also appear that the house will be in Black and White, I’m not sure though. Why not number one you ask…well I’ll tell you!

1) Silent Hill- I have been hoping and dreaming for this house since the first time I ever went to a HHN back in 2005. Silent Hill offers so much to a haunted house…it’s like the game was practically made to be put in other mediums just to be awesome! I can wait to feel the ash, to see the foggy scenes, to be nearly sliced to death by a nurse, and have my skin taken off by Pyramid Head. This house just has so much going for it. They didn’t reveal a whole lot media night (and you could tell it!) This makes me one excited Psychopath!

Well this article has taken me a lot longer to write than usual. Lot’s of stuff has been going on lately and to be honest I’m still trying to get back into the routine. At any rate, we will be at Halloween Horror Nights 22 on Sept. 28th doing the Annual Passholder thing. The group will be there with our freak hats on, so you won’t miss us. Everyone from Myself, to Seras, to ArnieFreeze!! We even have some new comers going with! Good friend Samhain and Magic Bob!! So come on out, say hello, get scared, and get your mug posted on a website!

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Malice Psychotik

Special Thanks to all of those that went to the Media Preview night and provided everyone with the awesome video and photo thrills. You help make the wait go a lot less painfully. HHN 22 House Announcement and Speculation!

GOOD MORNING DARLINGS!!! It’s your host, Malice Psychotik bringing you the word…NO!! Not the Bird…this time! No, I have some news on Halloween Horror Nights 22 (and some speculation). Wishing the fun website would go live soon!!! Need HHN fun play time…oh well…My fun is found in writing to all of you! ((And slacking off playing Final Fantasy IX…hee hee)) So, without anymore wasted time…

First off, yesterday we found out a new house. A couple of days ago, Screamscape.com posted an interesting pic showing off the facade to one of the Sprung Tents. The facade featured an orange wall of barrels and a burnt up “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign. Originally I was going to post about this earlier, as I had some good thoughts. I kept thinking it would be cool if they did something with Fallout: New Vegas. A little effort into a web search revealed though my original thoughts of what if KONAMI owned the rights to that game as well…proved them wrong. KONAMI does not in fact own the rights to that game at all. So as I had run out of ideas, I dropped it. If I would have been smart and read my own site though the answer would have been clear. Remember back months ago when I talked about the speculation that Penn and Teller were some how involved with the event? Then it turned out that Penn and Teller actually had shows in other areas during key nights to HHN 22? (Actually I don’t think I ever posted…Well damn there goes me not reading the site again…dunce!!) Anyway…Turns out Penn and Teller have a house at the event this year! Penn and Teller New(kd) Las Vegas! As you can imagine. Las Vegas has been NUKED (By our Bullshit-tastic Duo!) and you are taking a trip through a city repaired with a little bit of paint and a truck load of Bullshit…Did I forget to mention this is all in 3D? Yeah…that’s important….

Next is regarding the site…I’m going to speculate that we should see a major update within the next couple of days. Last year the main site went active Aug. 4th..Maybe it will happen tonight…WHO KNOWS!! I hope so! More than likely we will have to wait another week, that is if the site get’s better at all. If you want to form your own timeline, you can look at this link to HorrorNights.be. Here you will find a timeline for when things were updated on the website for the last couple of years. Enjoy!!!

Last but not least is an announcement for Hollywood. Up until now, all of the houses have been similar. Silent Hill, Alice Cooper, and Walking Dead will be taking place at both events. The most recent announcement for both parks though revealed two different houses. Orlando got Penn and Teller New(kd) Las Vegas and Hollywood got La Llorena: Cazadora de Ninos. So, does this mean they jsut tried to throw us for a loop…or are they going to start differing? Only time will tell, but I thought I would mention it. Saw a walk through of last years La Lorena house and was very impressed. While we are on the topic of Hollywood houses finding their way over here…I’ll also mention that they had a Hostel house last year. Now in years past, when they rent rights from movies, they have leased it for a couple of years (I believe the New Lines Slashers were leased for three years). Might we see a Hostel house this year? I’m thinking no if not just for the fact there is no more hype going on over any sort of Hostel movie…then again I don’t think their was last year either…

That’s all for now Darlings. Like I said hopefully we will see a full website update sometime soon. For all of you curious, it’s almost looking like the Encyclopedia Psychotika crew will be out at the event on the 28th of September (Yeah I know Early!!!) I’ll keep you all posted.

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Of Mice and Toons…An Interview with Lenny Mosco

Hello My Freaky Darlings! Today we have a very special interview from a good friend of mine. Lenny Mosco was so kind to give us an interview regarding his Youtube show, Lenny and Shinko’s Disney See. So what happens when a human and a toon make a show reviewing Disney stuff? Let’s find out…

Malice: Today we sit down with a good friend and fellow reviewer, Lenny Mosco. Lenny has an interesting YouTube show where he and his animated Side-Kick, Shinko, bring you the latest and greatest in Disney news. So, Lenny, why in a world of horror, action, anime, and sci-fi reviewers…why Disney?

Lenny Mosco: Why Disney? Well, like you said! It’s a world of horror, action, anime, and sci-fi reviewers. I’ve seen little reviewers focus on Disney. With Disney nowadays having a bit of a reputation for tween singers and idols, I say it’s time someone took a closer look at what makes the mouse tick. Granted I’ve noticed I’ve done a lot of positive reviews on some of the older stuff, but trust me *grin* we’ll get to the absolutely rotten stuff soon enough

Malice: How did you come across your partner-in-crime?

Lenny: Now why would I spoil a perfectly good origins video? We’ll touch on that, but not quite yet

Malice: I’ve seen you review Games and Movies, have you ever thought of reviewing the parks?

Lenny: Um…have you not seen my Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Review? It sort of counts as both a game and park review. If you mean the parks THEMSELVES…we’ll do that one day. You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to get a boom mic through bag check

Malice: Wanna’ give us any hints as to what’s up next?

Lenny: Well, I actually have a crossover review coming up with the delightfully scary creepypasta reader: “HumbleLittleNarrator” who’s part of the Midnight Society group on Youtube. Also, the conclusion to the story arc going on in the show is coming soon.

Mario never looked so fierce..maybe if this Mario were protecting the princess…she’s stay safe…lol

Malice: Now enough with business, let’s let the readers know you! I think it’s fair to say you are quite the Otaku. Any anime you would like to recommend?

Lenny: Hooo boy.. FAR too many to name in one sitting!…well, if you watch my show, it’s pretty obvious I love One Piece…as for others…I recommend watching Azumanga Diaoh if you want a good slice of life series, and reading Franken Fran if you love horror and comedy. Really, if you want recommendations, go to your local anime convention! I go. Heck, I cosplay as well!

Malice: Guys and Ghouls, it’s also fair to say that Mr. Mosco is quite the fine cosplayer as well. A Maker of Props and Costumes, Lenny you do awesome. Any new projects under way?

Lenny: Thanks!! As for anything planned…well…I’ve been planning a Mario Sunshine cosplay for a good while, the frame of the FLUDD is built. Also, while it’s going to be hard, I want to lose weight so I can cosplay timeskip Usopp

Malice: Have you seen any good movies as of late?

Lenny: Amazing Spiderman, Avengers, Ted…and I’m definitely looking forward to Wreck-it Ralph and Dark Knight Rises!

I feel bad this was the only real picture he was in all night…this needs to be corrected…

Malice: OUT-OF-HAT QUESTION TIME! A Furry, a Pirate Captain, and a Mutant Slug walk into a bar..why I forgot the rest of my joke…care to finish it?

Lenny:  A furry, a pirate captain, and a mutant slug walk into a bar, the bartender looks up at them and says “…What is this? some kind of joke?”

Malice: What are your opinions on the Zombie Apocalypse? Happening right now, completely impossible, or right over the horizon?

Lenny: Anything is possible really. Though if it comes, we’ll be ready for them. Having toons for your best friends has it’s advantages…it’s REALLY hard to kill toons!

Malice: In a world gone mad with Vampires and Werewolves…what are your feeling’s on Ponies?

Lenny: Ahhh, a brony question. Bronies and Ponies aren’t all that bad, neither is any fandom to be honest. You can’t define a fandom by its bad fans…besides, Pinkie Pie herself was on my show! I think it’s safe to assume I don’t mind them much (though my reputation is still suffering for that)

Malice: One last question before we go, what do you—CRASH!! ((EXTERMINATE!! EXTERMINATE!!))

Lenny: BLUE FAIRY I KNOW YOU HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THIS!! *flees*

“FEAR MY DEATH PLUNGER AND LASER APPENDAGE!!!”

Well now, if I had a nickel for every time that happened…Shoo! Go away you weird science fictiony, British thingy magoo!! Anyway, I do hope you all enjoyed the interview. Be sure to check out the Youtube channel, and for Cthulhu’s sake, if you like it subscribe! You can find that link right HERE. Maybe soon I’ll land an interview with Lenny’s Toon side kick. Come to think of it, I’ve never interviewed a toon before…hmmm! Be on the look out for a HHN 22 update tomorrow! They just announce that Penn and Teller will be hosting a maze this year called New(kd) Las Vegas! Will you survive the trip!?

Until next Time, My Freaky Darlings,
Malice Psychotik
