Universal and IOA Update for February!
Hi Freaky Darlings! I’m gonna try to make a general update on construction for Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Orlando one a month. I figure this will be easier to keep up with. Not to say that if something really cool comes up I won’t post it earlier, but I would love to just have a monthly article for this. This year is going to be big. Lots of construction. I thought there was a lot last year….no buddy! This year takes the cake!
The Simpsons Update
Last September, I started seeing rumor mill about The International Food and Wine Festival restaurant closing to make way for a new Simpsons themed eatery. Well rumor turned to truth and then grew to rumor…AND EXPLODED!!! Now we sit at beginning of February and all sorts of construction is going on. Rumor mill says you have this to look forward to: The Krusty Burger, Moe’s Tavern, Kentucky Fried Panda, New Simpsons Flat Ride near MIB, and Other Facades. I’m really excited for this experience. I’ve always been sort of luke warm toward The Simpsons. Mainly because of Back the the Future. But I think it’s high time to let go of old grudges. Simpsons are here to stay, and the sooner I get savvy with it…the better. It’s really not that bad of a ride, I just miss BTTF… Anyways…I’m not too sure about Kentucky Fried Panda, but i can’t wait to sit down to a Krusty Burger. I’m curious as to what the new Flat Ride is going to be…Supposedly it’s supposed to be like the Dumbo ride…we shall see…
Transformers The Ride 3D
A long, long time ago…in an article far away…I spoke of the demise of Building 44. Shortly after that came the news that we were actually going to have a Transformer ride for the east coast. Now months after that construction is in full swing and we are looking at a possible summer opening. I’m so stoked for this ride on Multiple levels. First off, it’s the Transformers. It may be Michael By’s Transformers…but it’s STILL the Transformers. Second it’s a dark ride modeled after The Amazing adventures of Spiderman, IOA’s best ride. If you don’t believe me, the proof is in the pudding. I’ll post a ride video below just so you can see. It’s also worth mentioning their exists rumors of the Monster Cafe being axed for a Transformers Themed eatery. I really hope this isn’t the case. I love the Monster Cafe with all of my heart. To me, it’s a rich part of not only film history…and not only Universal’s history…but the park as well. It reminds me of the hey day for whatever reason…probably because it’s themed after old movies? I don’t know. That’s all I on this front for now.
Harry Potter Phase 2
We’ll there isn’t much official as they have not made any official releases. Even since the last time we chatted this, we are still technically running off of rumors. Construction has begun though, and we can discuss the speculations. Of course there is a big ass building to house the huge ride through Gringott’s Bank. The only other named project is the Hogwart’s Express that will connect the two Harry Potter Areas. Still no exact details on how it will work, but rumor mill is pointing to something like the Kong 3D attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood. As far as other rumored attractions…well they are the same as last time. It’s Diagon Ally and Kingscross Station. Shops so far are as follows: Ollivanders, The Leaky Caldron, and Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes. Hopefully we will hear more closer it is to open.
Not enough info about Phase 2? Where do you think the info is being kept?
Random Rumors
One last random rumor that hasn’t panned out yet before I go. This one I’m not sure how to feel about it. Mostly I hate it. Supposedly, Toon Lagoon is up on the chopping block. Not sure why. They recently. a couple of years ago, had to do extensive work on Ripsaw Falls. Then again, the maintenance is pretty high…anyway…It is rumored that a Middle Earth attraction is on the horizon. Really there is nothing more than hearsay and whispers at this point. Just know it’s out there. Only other one to report is the possible rehashing of Posiden’s Fury to a sort of Grinch Attraction. Again, not much to go off of.

Romney, Sashay…Away.
Well, unless you have been living under a rock with tar poured deep in your ears and your eyes sewn shut….you know that Barack Obama has won another term in office…this Psychotik can’t be happier. The world is a lot safer now with out that crack pot trying to run it. (And that’s coming from me and I’m pretty sure I’m certifiable INSANE!) Wow, did I just say that!? See that’s the thing with this election, this one just seems like it has been different. Not sure if it’s the candidates, the amount of bullshit special interest groups, the fact that 99% of the GOP are whack jobs, The fact the Republican President Elect was a complete and utter numskull,or the fact the media has basically made the presidential campaign a sporting event…WHAT EVER IT IS!! It just seems to me their was a lot more riding on this one. Normally, I wouldn’t be compelled to write anything more than a couple of words on the topic, but this time round I feel a few more words are very necessary. I mean the fact that a weirdo like Romney made it as far as he did, has really shaken me to the core about the state of this great nation. How does someone who really knows nothing of how a country should be ran….or for that matter how to be a human being…almost get to become president? (Well not as close as that, he got killed with the vote…but I’ll get to that) I think what people needed more was to hear the Truth…Because if we only knew the Truth about it…Maybe we could work a way around it….(couldn’t help it!)
The Convenient Truth
Like I said, I find it very disturbing that Mittens made it as far as he did. The man clearly had a screw loose. How does a man go so far on thoughts and ideas that have no backing or proof and is constantly shown to be a liar? BLIND PEOPLE. FOLLOWING OTHER BLIND PEOPLE, FOLLOWING PEOPLE WITH AN AGENDA!!! You can not be pro-Obama, Hell I’ll admit that man ain’t perfect and has his fair share of bad ideas. But to vote for someone like Mitt Romney, who very obviously has nobodies interests in mind but him and his small group of friends based on the fact you don’t like Obama…is ludicrous. You do know there are other people running right? You do know the two-party system stays around because you won’t vote for anyone else right? Since when should we compromise our country, our home…because you don’t like this guy and the other guy is the only other choice. That’s like facing down to murderers, and your going to choose the guy with the Chainsaw because the guy with the machete isn’t dressed right!
I think the worst part is that the proof was right there what this guy had in mind…He didn’t hide it, or make it a secret…until it started to look real bad! Then he would look you straight in the face and lie! This man was anti-gay, anti-poor, anti-woman, anti-FEMA, (starting to think I’m singing Marilyn Manson’s “1996”)…
…The main bullet point you should take away from this is he was against a lot of things. Some of the ideas he had (Abortion, Rape, Foreign Policy, The Poor, The Rich, Taxes, Business Ethics) were totally out there and not based in fact at all. To perfectly understand this man, is to acknowledge the fact that he does not so much spout off facts…as much as he rejects reality and instead substitutes his own. That’s just a few. A simple Google Search will reveal all! It just disturbs me to think of how many people will get behind the wrong guy when they are afraid…Historically speaking that has never been a good thing…no matter what plane of reality you reside…
People Are Crazy
Now that we have all of the serious crap out-of-the-way, let’s move to the nonsense category. You know humans are interesting to watch! Some of the stuff that they do is just, well entertaining to say the least. Examples? I have plenty! Like did you know a woman in Kenya had twins on election day? Not that weird or funny…unless you know she named one Barack Obama and the other Mitt Romney. Now Barack is understandable (His Dad is from Kenya) but Mitt Romney…just cruel! Or the lady in Chicago that was in line to vote and in labor. Not just in Labor really, but contractions 5 mins. apart “OMG should totally be in the hospital right now!” in labor. In Michigan a man tried to vote…died…was brought back to life…then voted. His first question when he was brought back?: “Did I vote?”
Seriously, you people are a laugh riot…but without you…their are no smiles or rainbows!
Election Night Ya’ll!
Last thing I want to mention and then I’ll go, did anyone else get the feeling the media made this election something it wasn’t? Like, they made it out to be a little closer to boost ratings. Here’s why I’m thinking this. When I first started watching the numbers roll in, I was kind of concerned. It was really looking like Romney had an edge. Then it’s starts getting neck and neck for a bit. I think about midnight was when I got the news the election was already called. Obama destroyed Romney by over 100 electoral votes and by over 3 million in the popular vote. Now to me, that says the media knew more than what they let on…they just tried dragging it out a bit. I can’t prove it…but I can think it…and that’s what I’m gonna do!
In closing what a crazy race it has been. Not near as entertaining as Ru Paul’s Drag Race, but still. And I do believe Ru said it best after the election on Facebook “Obama Shantae, You Stay. Mitt Romney…Sashay, Away.” I still think it would have been funny to have the whole thing decided by Obama and Romney having to lip sync for their life…but we can dream…and I am a dreamer. So to all of you Romney supporters out there that are going to send me hate mail now, I leave you with a thought from me and a quote from Ru Paul. Your candidate may have lost, but it’s not the end of the world. Don’t believe in falsehoods from corporations. This race was between more than what you knew. Be glad Corporate America didn’t win. “And remember girls, If you can’t love yourself…How the hell you gonna’ love anyone else? Can I get an Amen!? Play the music!” Why certainly Ru…Certainly!

Your Grievance Has Been Avenged…Bin Laden’s Dead
I really had to think on this one before I posted something about it. I didn’t want to run right out and go with my gut. My original instinct was just to post something short sweet and to the point. Just something to help continue the word out there that this floater known as Bin Laden was finally flushed. No, I feel this deserves a little more thought than that. It seems so far the people who have posted their thanks for the end of this bastard have been met with a sort of childish argument. It seems there are some people in this world that have forgotten what this jack hole did to us as a country. So before I post my peace on the end of this man…if you can call him that…let’s go back a ways.
The Day a Country Stood Still…
Everybody that has the capacity to, remembers where they were, what they were doing, and what happened on September 11th, 2001. It was terrifying seeing our country, the great beast of America under attack. So much confusion, so much pain, and above all…fear. In one day so many things were changed. Everybody remained in a constant state of fear. All of this because of actions led by one man, Osama Bin Laden. This man became the poster child for terrorism. I don’t even remember hearing about the Taliban or Al-Qaeda before him, but after he hit the news that’s all you heard about. People started to distrust people from the middle-east more. It became almost a taboo to say you were muslim around others. The world was a much different place, and it wasn’t for the better.
It was then that America lashed back at terrorism. We took the war back to them, or so it would seem…this brings me to the next section….
Cause and Effect
It is amazing how the actions of one person can change things in sort of Domino effect. Now before I get to far into this, I’m not a conspiracy theorist. I’m not one of those that believes that America was behind it all, that it was all just a plot to invade the East for oil. No I don’t think that. Do I think that it was a real life tragedy that unfortunately was used to meet someone elses ends, oh yeah that’s possible. Leaving that behind let’s see what we have. The cause in this case is 9/11….let’s see if we can get through a small portion of the effects shall we: Muslims and Middle Easterners everywhere stigmatized, Thousands of Families without there loved ones, The War on Terrorism is started, The war with Iraq, More lives lost…on and on and on it seems this Cause and Effect cycle of death starts to take shape and it all leads back to the events of 9/11. The things I’ve listed don’t even touch the amounts of freedom that we have lost. The dollars in debt that we are in, or the financial problems this country has had since then. This brings me to my conclusion.

The Final
Out of nowhere comes the headline “Osama Bin Laden is Dead.” We got him after nearly 10 years our vengeance is absolved. Now I agree with most, I wish it could have been sooner. Fact is folks, tracking down somebody like that takes time. It also helps when you are looking in the right county. It was rather funny how one minute we are fighting Al-Qaeda, we are totally going to hunt them down and screw their little world right up. Then POOF just like that we are side tracked and in Iraq fighting to liberate all that Oil…er…Uhh… I mean Iraqi people! Yeah we are going to rescue them from Saddam Hussain…and we can do this because he has weapons of mass distruction….Yeah…thats it! He could be supplying the terrorists of Al-Qaeda!! We got kind of side tracked people. Now I’m not a Obama nut. He has made some decisions that I don’t really agree with. That’s fine, most presidents won’t agree with you all the time. I will give the man props though and say as badly as we were screwed up, the man has done a lot to try to keep us from backsliding. He has also done his best to clean up the wars and fires the previous fellow started. And yes damn it…he did what we set out to do almost 10 years ago….KILL BIN LADEN!!! He got us back on track to what our goal was. The main reason we were over there in the first place was to kill Osama. I don’t get what is wrong with all the nay sayers out there. Have they forgotten what this man did? I don’t really feel he deserved a trial…his verdict was decided when he plead guilty and accepted responsibility for 9/11.
Really, this is all the time I want to devote to this in particular. I just felt I needed to say something on the subject (especially since I will probably be making plenty of jokes at the dead jack asses expense). I think I will leave this by saying, many warm felt regards to all that were affected on September 11, 2001. I hope you may all rest a little easier knowing that your grievance has been avenged.
Now my freaky darlings I’m off to cause some more mayhem for you all. I have dug up some rather nice interviews and I have some pretty cool things to come. So…
