Psychotik Review: Mr. Hush

Alright this has been a long time coming, and I’m so happy to be able to finally review this film. As some of you may know who have been with us from the get go…or those of you that like to browse my back catalogue of articles…know about Mr. Hush. I feel so bad that I have sat on this review for so long. I know a few people who have been dying for my thoughts on it (Literally I have been to two funerals over this so far and can’t do it anymore…lol) Seriously though, this has been a long journey and I can’t wait for the next one David Madison set’s me on. Without beating around the bush…and no more around the tush…Allow me to present…

Psychotik Review: Mr. Hush

Epic cover means epic movie.....

Behold his greatness!

Allow me to start this off my saying I’m generally not a fan of Independent Films. Most experiences I’ve had in the past were very bad. Not to say that their haven’t been times that I’ve been amazed. Also in saying this though, I’d like to add I’ve come to know what to expect from these movies. Hush stands head and shoulders above others. Let’s not start out with the rating though…I want you all to sweat! The film is about  Holland Price (Brad Loree), an average enough guy with a perfect family. This all changes one Halloween night when a priest shows up at his door. According to him, he was taking some children trick or treating when his vehicle caught a flat. He just needed to use the phone. Seems legit? WRONG! I a single instance all goes wrong and thus begins Hollands nightmare. Flash 10 years in the future and Holland has become a drifter that suffers from nightmares of the night his wife was murdered and his daughter disappeared. He still searches for her, clinging to the thought she is still out there. It’s when he stops to settle down a bit…he finds the nightmare…has found him once again.

Before I dive into pro’s and con’s, let me start off with saying this is an independent film, and as such there are some things you have to take into consideration. Independent films are very low budget most of the times. So picking at bad visual effects, shaky camera, and other small details…you can’t really do that fairly. These are present in most if not all independent films. They can’t all have Rick Baker, Tom Savini, or film in an IMAX camera. So if your watching this movie, don’t rate it yourself comparing it to a multimillion dollar flick. At this point you are being unfair. You have to appreciate it for what it is. A throwback to the old horror movies of the 80’s. Something that was done wonderfully. Now that that’s out of the way…Pro’s and Con’s (I’m going to reverse the two so we end on a positive note!)

Cons

Really there isn’t much bad I have to say about Hush. The main problems I found was with transitions and character development. Some of the transitions between dream sequences and flashes forward in time are left unclear. It takes you a minuet to gather your thoughts and realize you aren’t really lost. A couple of times it happened and I was like “Whoa, Did I miss something?”

As far as character development goes, you learn a nice bit about most of the characters. Definitely enough to keep the movie moving. I just wish there was more. Some of the relationships that are formed are unclear because you don’t know how much time has lapsed. This con is almost a good thing, because that means the film had characters worth wanting to know more about it.

Pros

Ah, a lot of these to be had. But I’m only going to gush over a few. I enjoyed the casting, the story, the ending (the ending is going to have spoilers…but don’t worry I’ll warn you…this is number 1) The casting in this movie is very interesting. This is the first speaking main role for Brad Loree who usually is just a stunt man. I do hope this isn’t his last lead role as he did very well. The antagonistic role is played with a chilling sadistic nature by Edward X. Young. The man plays a villain like no other. He can go from purely calm in demeanor to psycho in seconds.  Stephen Geoffreys is like the perfect lackey and very much so a nod to his roles from the 80’s (Fright Night, 976-EVIL). Steve Dash will make you smile from ear to ear as will director Thomas Churchill. Neither one has much screen time, but boy the time they are on screen…you won’t forget them. Watch out for Spoilers ahead….

Story was another thing I enjoyed. It is cut from the same cloth has most horror from the 80’s, but in an original pattern. it’s refreshing to see a call back to when horror was really different. It wasn’t afraid to have comedy. It wasn’t afraid to be a little campy. The dialogue in this movie will chill you in some areas and in others make you have a real gut wrenching laugh (Listen for “You Smelly Fuck!”…your going to lose it and not get it back!! lol) A + for freshness….Spoiler Alert coming up ….now!!!

***SPOILER ALERT***

Who is this Edward Cullen you speak of?

Who is this Edward Cullen you speak of?

The ending is really worth mentioning as a pro. You don’t see it coming. Obviously you get their is something off about Mr. Hush. A sort of supernatural quality. What you don’t expect is him turning into a grey shark tooth fanged vampire. You also don’t expect one of the most hilarious vampire staking since Paul Rubens in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Huey Lewis and the News isn’t a bad addition either. I like the twist ending the most. You sort of see it, but it’s not at the front of your mind for sure. Age old vampire grudge over Hollands grandfather killing Hush’s mate? it’s very refreshing not seeing regurgitated ideas.

Final Verdict

In conclusion, I give David Lee Madison’s  Mr. Hush 4 out of 5 Top Hats. If you’re a fan of independent film, or just wanting to see a good fresh horror flick pick it up! It’s available at Blockbuster and through Netflix by mail. I really can’t wait to see further projects from David Madison. Hats off sir…Hats off! That will be all for today Darlings! Stay tuned for more madness!

I also have to say she is the only one that got me in her Holiday picture on time. I didn’t get to post it on Christmas due to Computer issues (since resolved). She’s a good half bat/half puppy!

LunaName: Luna

Hair Color and Style: Long curly, dark brown with light brown highlights

Eyes: Bright hazel

Height: 5’4

Weight: 145 lbs

Build: Average

Bust Size: D

Clothing: Gothic / punk

Other Identifiable Traits: Two beauty marks one on each cheek

Race: Hybrid; werewolf and vampire

Crew Position: Psychotik Girl

Favorite Books: The Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Favorite Movies: The lord of the ring and soon to be The Hobbit series.

Favorite Music: Nightwish; Bye bye beautiful. Nickleback; This is how you remind me. Kesha; Cannibal and Take it off.

Guilty Pleasure: I enjoy smells…When I say I enjoy smells…let’s just say just about any and leave it there.

Editor’s Note: Really? Nickleback wasn’t the guilty pleasure? In that case no I do not want to know some of those smells…Ha Ha! I kid…But seriously we need to talk…

Back Story: Luna was a creation by a scientist that was obsessed with the perfect monster or more so the perfect human. Stronger, smarter, faster and everlasting. To put it simple; an immortal. Reading stories and myths about hybrids and created his own. Blood of a vampire mixed with blood of a werewolf. For years the man worked on the perfect blood to balance it and failed many times. One day he had all but given up, that was till a new idea began to form. The blood did not have a host. In his readings he remembered the note of a Dr. Frankenstein, could it work? There was one way to find out. The scientist had found a child. She had died at a young age; killed with her family by some lunatic. Her throat was slit, torn apart. The perfect subject. The night of the blood moon was the night the scientist had succeeded. He had tubs down her throat and IV’s in every vain. A small pulses of electricity were sent to her heart and air pumped into her lungs. Her neck was stitched back up after all the blood was in her, slowly her body started to heal. Within a month her heart rate was normal, all vital signs were stable. He had done it. Three months had passed before she was learning to walk, read, talk… and feast. To her it was normal, but the scientist had told her that she was to keep the blood thirst away from others, it was their secret and one she kept very well. Upon her 18th birthday however was her awakening and the fatal night for the scientist.

Meeting Malice: You know I’ve always been one for enjoying what most consider monsters. Really they are no different than other creatures. Just they are a bit higher up he food chain. None of these creatures are quit as interesting as a hybrid. A half and half mocachino of the monster variety as it were. So here I am, wandering around in these woods in…well I’m not even sure I remember what dimension…and there is this girl covered in blood in the middle of the forest. Fierce eyes and sharp fangs. Apparently she had been out there for a month. She had killed the man who created her, a few campers, and a host of chickens. The guy that created her had done a good job at bonding Vampire and Lycanthrope DNA…he just didn’t know how well. It just so happens on her 18th birthday, the DNA strands became perfect…and the result was violent. Poor thing was having trouble controlling her baser urges…Seras is working with her. The information she has from her home world is advantageous to say the least.

Hope you enjoyed our dear fanged puppy! Look forward to more to come!

Until Nest Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Malice Psychotik

F.E.A.R Concert January 5th, 2013

1111111

Darlings…you do remember a bit back we had the interview with friend and Finding Every Altar Ruined’s Mike Meara? Well recently I for to catch a live show of there’s right here in little ol’ Bum Fuck Egypt! If you have the Youtube channel added (and we know you don’t) you would have already gotten to see the video’s I’m a bout to post. Give them a watch, I really do think they have something good going on here. I was very impressed by them. I’m not just saying that because they are friends either. I’m a real stickler when it comes to my metal. I don’t just listen to anything…I like to think I really only listen to good music. They are good music. Somebody hand them a record deal, because they are going places all of them!

The most amazing thing is, this is coming out of Okeechobee, Fl. Most of you out there may not even know it exists (regardless of the fact it’s located over the biggest lake in Florida of the same name…you are all nimrods if you just said “What lake in Florida?”) It’s a tiny little cowboy/bible town you would never expect good music to come out of. F.E.A.R proves that theory so wrong. To top it off, you never see a show like that in Okeechobee. Now it may have been in a back yard, but hey that’s as good as it get’s here. I do belive the last rock show I was at in this town was Ring of Scars. And that was way back when. They proved it can happen though. I caught up with Mike after the show and he had even said he hoped that this shows other bands that you can do this in this town. There is a scene for it! At any rate…look at the videos below. So sorry we didn’t catch the other bands that were there. We caught the last half of Reach for the Sky‘s set. They are another really good band to keep an eye out for. Seras and I talked to Lead Singer Rajan Maharajh about doing an interview and they are pretty down for it. So look for that soon!

Editors Note: Do excuse the quality of the videos. It was getting late and the sun was going down. As there was no lighting, the videos get darker. Seras informed me that if I made lights appear out of no where, all the humans would freak out..I also could not get all of the show, which is a shame. But at least I had a chance to enjoy the last half!

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings.

A Psychotik Review: Jersey Shore Shark Attack

Why hello there Freaky Darlings! Dear me, the recent experiments have been keeping me away! On a brighter note, things should pick up soon around here as I have wired together an interesting substitute for a broken lap top. (Can’t use Cheshire cat magic all the time kiddies…takes the adventure out of life!) Any how, we have a movie review from my dear vampire sweety, Seras Psychotik! We sat down the other day to a remarkably funny cheese fest in the form of Jersey Shore Shark Attack. I considered it to be pretty good for what it was. But this isn’t about what I think….Let’s see what Seras has to say…

A Psychotik Review: Jersey Shore Shark Attack

jersey-shore-shark-attack-banner2

The Jersey Shore Shark Attack is an Anchor Bay film released in 2012 that is a parody of The Jersey Shore reality television series and JAWS. Yes I know it sounds corny but proved to be quite humorous. Vinny from TJS stars as a newscaster for News Jersey Live. Other stars of TJS are parodied as follows: The Complication aka TC (The Situation), Donnie (Ronnie), Nooki (Snooki), Paulie Balzac (Paulie D), J-Moni (J-Woww), and BJ (Deena). The only star not parodied is Sammie. Guess they weren’t a fan?

TJS acronym GTL (gym, tan, laundry) becomes ASS (alcohol, sun, sex). Not that it’s any different from what they do on The Shore lol. So early on as the film opens you get to see the sharks that cause all the problems. Albino Bull Sharks. White with blood-red eyes. This species of shark generally stays far out in the ocean but are attracted to vibrations. Mayor Palantine (Paul Sorvino), has approved a development on the Jersey Shore that includes underwater drilling thus drawing the albino bull sharks to shore on the 4th of July.

First kill in the movie is very JAWS like. A man out fishing on a small boat is attacked. Immediately, you can hear the squib hiss as blood comically pours and squirts from his neck and upper torso areas.

Things get crazy when there is a “misunderstanding” between the Guidos and the JS Blue Bloods or preppies we’ll call them. A friend of TC, Donnie, and Paulie goes missing after jumping in the water to escape the pursuing preppies. When he isn’t seen again and doesn’t return calls they become concerned and the entire JS gang takes matters into their own hands to find out what happened.

After they enter a restricted area the gang come across a human torso and then the fins begin sailing through the water right at them! A decision is made to steal a boat belonging to head preppie Bradford (Grant from Secret Life Of The American Teenager). Sharks are spotted so they begin lighting fireworks to toss at them. Donnie clumsily drops a lit firecracker into a bag full of them and consequently blows up the boat!

No one will believe them that Seaside Heights is crawling with the deadly creatures. 4th of July festivities begin and as Joey Fatone formerly of N Sync prepares to take the stage they try once more to make someone believe. Joey simply laughs in their face and takes the stage. Joey dedicates a song to all the ladies but before he even begins singing, a shark flies across the screen devouring him!!! Now people believe.

joey-fatone-jersey-shore-shark-attack_thumb[2]

You know, they used to just use Sheppard rods or a gong to get a bad act off stage…I’m for this…J/K…We love you Joey, ya’ crazy Italian Bastard!- Malice Psychotik

One shark is caught and a mic found in its mouth so the mayor is happy to say the shark that ate Joey Fatone is dead and there aren’t any more. He was wrong. So as not to give too much more away, you get to see Nooki beat a shark over the head with a boat paddle which is amusing.

As we come upon the climax of the film, the sharks have banded together to take down the pier. Police start clearing everyone off but of course there are casualties. Brave TC runs out onto the pier where the drilling was being done and manages to shut off the drill. Immediately, the sharks begin heading back out to sea. Newscaster Vinny is excited to report that the Shore is once again safe. Just before a shark flies across the screen and eats him. RIP Vinny. The Shore won’t be the same without you.

My personal scoring of the film is 4 out of 5 top hats. It was very entertaining and kept my attention throughout the entire film. Remember, it’s a parody.

jersey-shore-shark-week-snooki-the-situation-tv-ecard

You should really go out and rent this if you can. It’s pretty good for a laugh and entertaining enough. Whether you love The Jersey Shore, Hate The Jersey Shore, or just plain want to see a shark movie…I’m sure you will love it. Stay tuned for more madness to come!

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

A Psychotik Resolution for 2013

Hey there, Freaky Darlings! It’s been a shame that things have been put on hold so long as of late. The holidays, coupled with laptop issues, multiplied by a multitude of complex humanish problems have left me overly exhausted and without energy…Basicly it’s time for a long trip to Orlando and copious amounts of absinthe. Either way the year is drawing to a close. We are literally only hours away for the new year and I have somethings I would rather like to share with you. One…is my New Year Resolution…It’s sort of the same as last year…or at least part of it. To keep furthering my goals….blah blah blah….The main one though, to stop holding on to childish things. To become more evolved as a person and stop letting little people, with small brains ruin my time. Not saying actually little people, but you know what I mean. It’s time to let some things go completely…MOVING ON!!

The next thing I would like to do is share some fond memories with you all. Lot’s of bad things have happened this year…I mean life has been inside, outside, sideside, and downside…never slowing down and more than determined to keep me down on my ass! Taking that into consideration, all the bad had me thinking about the good. I guess you could say this is a section to honor some great people in my life…also just some great times I had. Let’s list them shall we!!!

10. KuniCon/OtakuCon December 2004

This was the second convention I ever attended and it sticks out in my mind still to this day as being a crazy cool time. It wasn’t because the Con was off the chain or anything. Oh no, far from it. It was one of the most disorganized events I have ever been to. Nothing happened on time, everything was late. It took two hours to get our passes and we pre-registered. My costume was half done…regardless of the fact I managed to deliver on the friend that was supposed to help me’s props. But you know, I had a totally fun weekend. I had awesome hang out time with great friends. I belive I was around Todd Holt and Derek Underhill that whole weekend starting with the rave. Okay, just calling it a rave…doesn’t give it justice. That was an epic-neonic-super-overload of joy/happiness/ecstasy/rage/bliss…Rainbows spoke to me…That was also the first time…and unfortunatly last time…I got to see Select/Start. They are this awesome little group of musicians that perform all kinds of Game and Anime Music. They are great. I think that was the first weekend I recall me being me…

9. Universal with My Grandpa

Grandpa Psychotik was the first one to ever introduce me to the majesty that is Universal Studios. Without him, I would have never gotten to experience rides like Kongfrontation, Hanna Barbarra, or Nick Studios. My trips with him were always the best. He would come get me early as hell the day of and we would get there right when the park opened and didn’t leave until they kicked us out. He always made sure I got to ride what I wanted…and believe me..back in Uni’s hey day, that wasn’t easy! I remember waiting several hours for Back to the Future and Terminator 2: 3D. Heck, I remember when Islands of Adventure was just a dust bowl…then I remember a couple of years later him taking me there 6 months after opening. Your going to see Universal on this list quite a bit by the way…it plays a big part of who I am.

8. Summer Vacation with Granny

I could go on for days about my Granny Psychotik. That woman has done so much for me…it’s really not even funny. My best memories with her were the summers I used to spend with her in West Palm Beach…and then once more in Connecticut. She would always find something fun for us to do. Even though she had to deal with work all day, she always made time to come home and spend time with me. Some of the best times I remember involved The Palm Beach Science Museum, Seaworld, Star Wars Episode I, The Pequot Museum (I’m probably really spelling that wrong), various trips to the mall, and od course trips to Denny’s and Piccadilly (again murdering the spelling). She always taught me to enjoy the simple things in life. She really shaped this twisted little mind.

7. Jurassic Park Island

Not sure why…but when I think of specific beautiful places…Jurassic Park Island at night comes to mind. I have a lot of fond memories with friends and especially my Seras there. I’m not sure why…maybe because we always ended up winding down there, maybe because I love the movie, maybe because at night it is hands down a romantic little place…WHAT EVER THE REASON!! It always sticks out in my head and deserves to be mentioned.

6. Marching Band

Some of you may or may not know this…but i was a Band Geek in High School. Yes, before I fully awakened back in my skin as Malice Psychotik…I was the Bombastic, Shaggtastic Shaggy. I never really appreciated Marching Band until my Senior year. It’s been a part of my old life that I have always missed. The people, the equipment, the uniforms, the blood, sweat, tears, and the screaming crowd (NO DAMMNIT THIS ISN’T THAT FREAKING GARTH BROOKS SONG!!!) I’ve never been able to recapture that feeling of performing. It’s a shame my bands I’ve put together never stayed together. Would have been a great outlet…but then I would have never had time to open this glorious site. I have to say the all time favorite part…was winter bus rides home at night. Never a dull moment…and when it was…be damned if it wasn’t the most relaxed I had the pleasure of being in high school.

5. Grad Night 2005

2005 was a shitty year for me. On of the best things that happened was Grad Night. Disney is actually a pretty cool destination at night. Sort of wish they would have it open late at night for people like me who…prefer it that way. It was the first time I had been there since I was a baby…so really it was the first time. Brings me to mention my friend Whitney Wood. I believe that was the first time we had ever “Hung out” like that. I know I ran into other people that night, but we kind of duded it up the whole evening. Funniest part of the whole night was Space Mountain for the second time. We had no idea that the damn thing had two different tracks…let’s just say that first drop took us by surprise. I seem to remember something else that had to do with us Statler and Woldorffing a comedian. Great night…

4. That One Night at Oz’s

My friend Oz always had people at his house. It was almost like the unofficial party central there for a while. No other night sticks out as the infamous That One Night at Oz’s…It was after one of the particularly nasty Hurricanes in 2004. I needed away from the house and so did a few other friends…so naturally…we met at the one place we knew we could get away from all, Oz’s. Not sure what was in the air that night, but be damned if it wasn’t funny as hell. Between playing video games, watching Naruto, taking a pellet gun to a cock roach, or having the giggles for like 5 hours straight…we all had a memorable night. I miss nights like that…If you are reading this Oz…do know I miss that. I miss that Oz the most…

3. Andrew Albritton

I have too many memories to share about my dear Best Friend Andrew. Me and him have been through Hell and Back. We have had good times and Bad…but I can honestly say that this guy is a dude I will never forget and I’m glad to call him my friend and brother. Earliest memory I have is of me staying over at his house and us watching Austin Powers. I seem to remember Mrs. Pam getting us awesome chicken sandwiches from Burger King and us playing some type of mech game he next day. We always shared everything…DBZ, Gundam Wing, Final Fantasy, That one girl in high school…lolz! Yeah anytime spent with him was a memorable one…to many to name.

2. Little Psychotik’s Birth

So much bad had happened to us before Jazmin was born. I had lost two dear relatives, and was in a massive Car Accident that nearly killed us. My little girl coming into the world erased all of that. We even had a rough time in the hospital…but I remember every second of every one of those days perfectly. There is not one time that I listen to HIM and not think of Jazzy. She was even born in one of two cities Seras and I spent most of our time. So cool how so much ties together. Anytime I’m down I think of that and instant repairo! Good moods a comin’

1. Trips with Seras

My number one favorite memories are all of the trips I have had with my dearest Seras. Whether it was coming back from Jensen late at night, Universal, Sebring, or Tennessee…I always loved our late night car rides. Sometimes I would be so tired, but it’s like it didn’t matter I was where I wanted to be. I had a kick ass day or weekend…and that ride home was the icing on the cake. I always think of those times while listening to Dir En Grey, Marilyn Manson, Cradle of Filth, or Avenged Sevenfold. Probably because that’s what was in the cd player 24/7…lol…Always a good time though…I love you boo…

Well any way, next year is going to be a big year for the site…I hope…New ideas are starting to come together a little more rapidly. I wanted them to be already active, but things what they are…let’s say you have to break a few eggs to make a omelette. I’m sure you will all like it. I won’t gloat…it’ll jinx it…instead I’ll just say I’m sure you’ll like it

Until Next YEAR, My Freaky Darlings, (Had to go there!)

Malice Psychotik

P.S Some honorable mentions are in need too. Not that they aren’t fond…I just don’t want to rename the list…and this isn’t Christmas anymore so 12 is a ridiculous number to use…

* My Brother Matteo Tullio- Dude anytime we have ever hung out…it turned to gold. You are right up there with Andrew. The other part of the Triforce man. I miss our early morning trips to Pogey’s…or the impromptu trips to Star Bucks out on the turnpike.

*The First Drop of Mansinthe- Words do not accurately describe that night. The most I can say is Friends Todd Holt, Seth Garner, Gerry Sparks, Heather Smith, Seras, and Me all tried Mansinthe for the first time. I, not having my bearings with me, mixed it on the high-end and made us trip balls bad! Like you’ve heard that song “Happy Together”? That was literally playing in our heads at the same time. We were all so very cat happy. All courtesy of Todd supplying us with Alcohol and Snuggy’s…and Seth raping his car…that was funny too! Good Times!

HAPPY NEW YEAR MOTHA’ TRUCKAH’S

MURRAY CHRISTMAS FREAKY DARLINGS!!!

As the day comes to an end I offer you a very fond MURRAY CHRISTMAS! No poems, no articles, no stories, or Krampus to boot….Just Murray Christmas to all…and to all a good night!

Sadistically Yours,

Malice Psychotik

Psychotik Review: Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter

Hello Freaky Darlings! It’s time for another movie review. I had planned for this to come out a lot sooner. As a matter of fact, I hd a lot of things planned to come out, but this month has not went as planned at all. Plus in the light of Friday’s tragedy, I felt it in bad taste to try to compete with headlines and what you would consider “real” news. On the other hand a good friend and Psychotik Girl that you will all love to meet very soon, Cyanide LaMorte, maybe a little relief from that sort of news isn’t such a bad thing. It’s important to learn the facts, but the media has a tendency to beat you across the face with their dick about it. Keeping that in mind, let’s talk about an awesome president. Let’s review…

Psychotik Review: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

abraham_lincoln_vampire_hunter

I was soooooo excited when I saw this book was being made into a movie. Such an original concept here. And what a way to get people interested in history. Let me give you a brief summary of the movie. The film (and book) tell you the untold story of Abraham Lincoln. You see history only tells you a small part of the tale. History doesn’t tell you the story of how Honest Abe was a vampire slayer…or the real truth behind the win at Gettysburg. The story is told through the eyes of Abe Lincoln from a young age right up until the night he was shot in Ford’s theater. Lincoln was pretty well thrust into the role of vampire hunter when he witnessed his mother’s death at the hands of one. From that day forward he devoted his life to killing the vampire that took his mother. When he finally is able to kill him, he botches it and is saved by Henry Sturges (A vampire but you don’t know that…yet). Henry takes him under his wing and trains him to become a vampire killing machine. That’s all I’ll leave you with here because you really should watch the movie.

***WARNING! FROM THIS POINT ON THERE WILL BE SPOILERS***

Pros

Oh, man where do I start…The visual effects were top-notch. The story is above and beyond fantastic. The casting was really great. Everywhere you look there is something you will love. I’m sure what most vampire fans in general will enjoy is the return to dignity with the vampires. When they are not vamped out, some of them are very gritty seedy looking people. The higher up vampires of course look better dressed but they still retain the creepy air. When they vamp out, your met with a face full of razor-sharp teeth with no remorse.  The level of detail in intertwining history with fiction is also a big plus. If you are a history buff you will enjoy yourself. If not, then you will be intrigued enough to look for more info. I think my favorite instance was the explanation of the Civil War and how it was won. In the movie, the reason the South started their winning streak just before Gettysburg was the addition of vampires to the battlefield. To even the score, Abe amasses silver for the Union forces so they are properly armed. Last pro I will offer is the film looks damn pretty. It’s really hard to describe it further than that. The movie just has this quality of keeping you paying attention the whole way through.

Cons

I really had to think about this one. My only real big problem…The movie moves to fast in some areas. A few areas in general just feel rushed through and give you the feeling that their was more to be seen here. This may very well be because it’s adapted from a book, even still though it’s kind of obvious and you can’t miss it. I can’t really thing of anything else that bothered me, but then again I’ve not read the book. Maybe once I read it, I’ll go back and visit this again.

Taking all of that into consideration, I give Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter 5 out of 5 Top Hats. It really is a good movie, go see it if you haven’t. You will leave impressed. That’s will be all for now Freaky Darlings. Stay tuned for more to come soon. This time I won’t make any promises as to whats next or when…just keep an eye out.

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Seras Psychotik

Hello, Freaky Darlings! Something occurred to me the other day…you don’t know very much about me at all. For that matter you know even less about some of the others that do little bits for the site. Why not introduce us…you know give you better idea of what goes on behind the curtain. After all, we are a pretty unique breed of creatures. So with that in mind, and with the additional freaks that have been added to the fold, I find it high time for introductions. Keep in mind, all of the “people” you are about to see…well may not be from this dimension. After all, if you can hope endless realities and time lines…why select people to help you out from just one place huh?

This first introduction is one very dear to my heart. This lady is the center of the Cheshire Cat’s world. She keeps me up when I’m down and becomes the wind under my wings to make me sore highest above all. My inspiration…my muse…Meet the Lovely…

Back Story: I was born Oana Enescu in Alexandria, Romania in the year 1722. I was born with Xeroderma Pigmentosum which is a disease that makes me sensitive to light. I was never allowed outside during the day and any touch of sunlight on my skin burned. When I was 13 a doctor by the name Faustino Vanderheide created a vaccine that would allow people like me, my family, and many others live normal lives. It is called XP23. It began as daily injections but now is yearly. Still, I was different. As my 18th birthday approached and I prepared to set out on my own, I discovered who I truly was. I was told the story of Anton Dracul from Wallachia and how he made a deal with the Four Prince’s of Hell to save his family from starvation. From this deal, the Strigoi were created. Most of you know us as Vampires. Once we reach the age of 25, the same age as Anton when he made the deal, we stop aging and the Thirst begins. The thirst for human blood. The Thirst to destroy humankind. The year is now 2012 and we have a vaccine to help control the blood lust. But the supply is running out…

Meeting Malice: Very interesting story actually…One thing I’ve developed after all of my years is a weakness for Vampires. Don’t know if it’s the pale skin, the mesmerizing eyes, or the insatiable blood lust…they just get me going. Well one particular trip to Earth 187, I was invited to a ball of sorts. To my great pleasure it was a vampire ball…While there I happened across the most rare of beauties…Oana Enescu. Apparently she was as taken away with me as I her. We tried a long dimension relationship for a time…wasn’t working too well. So I proposed she come with me on my travels. She accepted! Boy were her parent’s pissed. Still are in fact! Strigoi can hold one hell of a grudge. Since then we have seen countless things and even have a little bundle of joy, Jazmin Psychotik. Half Strigoi, Half Cheshire Cat….100% fun! OH! And before I forget this story. Most of you may wonder why she goes by Seras Psychotik. Her real name was near inmpossible for me to pronounce properly…it was also a way to stick it to her parents!

Well that’s one down…lot’s to go. Enjoy some pics below! Keep an eye open for more soon!

Exploiting F.E.A.R…A Chat with Mike Meara of Finding Every Altar Ruined

Hello Freaky Darlings!! Happy Saturday and how are you doing? It’s been forever since I’ve done anything in the realm of an interview on this site…so why not knock off the dust and do one eh? Ha Ha! That’s exactly what I did! I sat down with a friend of mine who recently started a pretty neat band named Finding Every Altar Ruined or F.E.A.R. So far they have preformed one show and have several coming up (dates posted below). If you’re a fan of metal….you’ll enjoy what you hear….well…here…Anyway, turn it up to 11…it’s time to…

Exploiting F.E.A.R…A Chat with Mike Meara of Finding Every Altar Ruined

1111111

Malice Psychotik: How would you describe F.E.A.R’s music style?

Mike Meara: I would describe it as a mixture. we are heavy at times with a real thrash kinda attack then we can slow down to a real clean depressing single guitar and bass bring down. We are really trying to bring all emotion into our music not just anger and rage.

Malice Psychotik: Where do you find inspiration for your songs?

Mike Meara: From the world.  All around us.  The pain we go through as people, ghouls and demons are cool and all but life is much more frightening and complex

Malice Psychotik:  What started F.E.A.R as a band? How did you assemble the group?

Mike Meara: Well I have been in 5 bands in the last 5 years as a bassist/guitarist, and I never found there what I wanted to truly do.  Being from Okeechobee I would have to drive the 45 minutes to an hour every week to make it to any kinda practice and I would always be on time and everyone else would be late even though they lived there. It became very upsetting.  After about a 2 month drop off from doing anything musicaly I decided to start my own project with the idea of I will do what ever I want with my ideas.  So after I had some good ideas I contact friends from previous projects like Systematic Hate and Edge Of Eternity.  Once I got the right group of people together it was more or less pretty smooth sailing.

Malice Psychotik: Long term, what is your goal as a band? Are you just doing this for the shit’s and the giggles or are you looking to move mountains and change lives?

Mike Meara: I can’t speak for every one involved but for me, This is my life.  It is very important to me to be able to drive around states and play for anyone who wants to listen.  I could care less about money or fame, even though the money would be a plus.  I just really like what we do and the message we are trying to send.

Malice Psychotik: How long have you been playing music? What first got you interested?

Mike Meara:Yeah, hard to say really, I got my first Bass when I was like somewhere from 13-15, so I guess technically about 9-11 years. I enjoyed playing it but I wasn’t very good for a long time, more just seeing what I could do here and there.  After I heard a band called Megadeth is when I truly got inspired to really take this seriously. I got a hold of a Megadeth Tape “Countdown To Extinction”
and I was just blown away that you could play like that, it was fast technical and catchy, with choruses you could sing and riffs you could feel in your bones

Malice Psychotik: What matters more to you musicianship or showmanship?

Mike Meara: I would say a mixture.  From a player’s point of view it is much harder to play something complex and be right on the money every single time you play it.  But I know showmanship can really bring a crowd in.  I love watching an active band for sure, I don’t want to watch anyone just stand there and play that’s boring.

Malice Psychotik: You believe in moshing at shows or are you more the mellow out and listen to the tunes sort of guy?

Mike Meara: Honestly, it really depends on who I am with and what band is playing.  If it’s the first time I am seeing a band I will watch and listen, but if I know the band and I like what they do. I’ll throw down.

Malice Psychotik: Do you think Furry’s have a place in the world of metal music?

Mike Meara: I believe there was once a band like that called Coq Roq.  They dressed up like chickens and did the Burger King Commercials some years back.

Malice Psychotik: Do you believe that Boston woman are a paler, uglier breed of woman than say woman from other walks of life?

Mike Meara: Depends lol.  haven’t been around much but I have heard a thing or 2

Malice Psychotik: What is your general opinion of Apache Helicopters?

Mike Meara: It’s more powerful than a young boys wish.  An Absolute death machine

Malice Psychotik: What is the oddest sex move you’ve ever heard of or preformed? Describe. (i.e. Hooking the Marlin, The Angry Pirate, The Monkey Face, The Houdini, Italian Bed and Breakfast, Flying Leprechaun…)

Mike Meara: i am tied between the Cosby Sweater and the Charizard.  The Cosby Sweater you eat a bunch of fruity pebbles then throw up all over your others chest and it resembles a Cosby sweater. the Charizard is right before you bust you light your others pubic region on fire then put it out with your baby batter smack them in the face and yell “You don’t have enough badges to train me!”

There you have it guys and ghouls! Mike from Finding Every Altar Ruined I thank you for my readers! You handled this like a Sir!!! In case any of you are in the Lake Worth area, they will be there today at the Speak Easy Lounge. The show starts at 5pm and features some others bands. Party ends at 11pm. I believe they go on sometime in the middle. Other future dates are as follows: Tropical Martini January 4th and at Limitless Studios on January 14th. Show up, say you heard about em’ here and show em’ some love for your Dear Ol’ Malice! Check out links below for Facebook Page and Videos…That will be all for now…i need to crawl up in bed and take a cat nap.

Until Next Time, My Freaky Darlings,

Malice Psychotik
